We'll be lucky if they release 4.2 for iPads before they release the 2nd generation iPads. My iPad is my 1st experience with Apple and it's become a joke how they jerk people around lol It's probably no surprise to those familiar with Apple....but sheesh.

I'm just waiting for multitasking. I have categories/SB and love the way it works, but I'm not a fan of backgrounder. Airprint will be useful, but it's not a priority for me right now. I could care less about airplay honestly, because whatever is on my iPad is also on my appleTV. So I can wait for the official release. Im not too impatient at this point.
Apple hasn't jerked people around. They said iOS 4 for iPad will be released in the fall, and later they specified that to November. It's still November and it's still fall. People have just been jerking themselves around by first speculating that fall meant September, and then that November meant early November.
Do you realize you weren't even promised an update when the iPad was released? Most iOS devices only get an update this big a year after being released.
Dont know if it is anything to do with the update but iTunes will not let me connect to the update server.

I couldn't agree more. How dare Apple say that they're releasing 4.2 in the fall and not end up releasing it in the summer as a nice surprise. Then they have the gall to say that they're going to release it in November and they end up not releasing it in September/October. What kind of f&*^ing company is this Apple.

The wife and I find ourselves doing the samething and start complaining about missing multitasking on the pad.
Would you rather they release it and it have bugs (like say wonky Wifi or broken 3G?)
RELAX! It's not like your iPad is unusable without 4.x... I use mine just fine every day. Yes, I LIKE multitasking for a FEW things, but honestly, I don't find it all that stellar on my iPhone 4 as it is...

Maybe you won't need to multitask switching between a lot of apps, but I would find it very useful for other stuff, for example:
- I was setting an email account in Preferences, and I couldn't switch on the fly to Notes to copy the password for the account, it would be closed.
Simple stuff — but important — like that will be really useful. Like on real desktop OS.
