Official Mac Rumors "What's Your Job" Thread

I work in McDonalds, but in september I will normally continue school. It is because I changed school. Its complicated.;)

I am a senior about to graduate with a B.S. in Theology. I am also a credentialed minister and I hope to be a pastor in the next 2 months.

If you have any theological questions please feel free to PM me.

I am finishing up my high school career, I am currently without a job. I have applied at several local places, but haven't gotten job yet. This summer, when I can commute to Waco (the nearest largest city from here) I will be able to find something to do. In the Fall I will begin a two year college career in which I suspect after that I will move on and begin working in the computer networking field.

So if this thread is still here in a few years, I will update.

So back in April of 2006 I posted in this thread while I was an un-employed senior in High School. Today I am currently working two jobs and will actually be finishing my degree program in April (major is computer networking and systems administration with a specialization in UNIX). I work part time for Wal-Mart and have for the past year and half doing various different things. In December I started an internship with MailMax Direct (www.mailmaxdirect.com) where I am doing a bit of IT (running data cabling and a little bit of UNIX stuff for now) a lot of data processing (the only way they would justify having me as an intern for the IT stuff would be to put me doing some data processing stuff, not such bad work but not what I want to do the rest of my life) and also a bit of variable data printing. Perhaps when I graduate if I am offered a full time position with better pay I will decide to stick around here.

So it has been close to a year since I posted here, and so I figured I would update the thread. I worked with MailMax Direct till May of that year, however, I was supposed to graduate in May and I slacked off I dropped a class that I needed to graduate (as opposed to failing it) and had to go back and take that class over the summer. MailMax had not anticipated having me longer than the 15 week internship, and as you can imagine sometimes funding for internships gets cut off and so they had to let me go (I couldn't have afforded to keep the internship for the experience if I wasn't going to get paid). So over the summer, I continued working for Wal-Mart and got a part time job doing IT stuff for another company (Manitou North America) where I was until August.

I graduated in August and received my A.A.S in Computer Networking & Systems Administration, UNIX Specialization and was hired on the last day in August with HISG (www.hisg.org) and I work along side with HISG and G3S2 (www.g3s2.org) in the non-profit world getting a decent salary and amazing experience as in ICT Support Analyst. I am currently supporting our Global Information Center in Meridian, TX as well as supporting remote users around the globe with VOIP and every day IT tasks. Soon will be expanding my support to our New York Office, and may assist with the Headquarters in Colorado.

I valet at Hooters. It's nothing but Camaros.

hooters has valet? ha! i did valet when i was like 17, but it was for a really fancy restaurant. most valets are usually for nicer places, steakhouses, etc. i parked a lot of bmws, mercedes', porsches -- they kept the ferraris and rolls royces and super expensive **** up front

but hooters? thats hilarious. you'll be parking mustangs and f-150's all day

I'll play along. I'm a network/systems administrator for the Man! I work for the DOD. The corporate world was too mean and scary for me, so I went to work for the feds. Since I'm low person on the pole, my duties seem to be whatever the other people in the office wanted to dump on me. I'm hoping we hire someone new soon, so I can dump the annoying stuff on the newbie. :)
