Glad you got it back.

For what it worth I bought a silicone keyboard cover for my 2009 macbook.
It prevents liquids getting though the keyboard.

It is not perfect but should stop minor spills.

See if they do them for air think they do.

was it same cost to fix as apple quoted you?
[doublepost=1479389667][/doublepost]I didn't go to an official apple store, i went to this electronic store that repairs broken electronics.
Apple had quoted an extremely high price to get the macbook fixed (around $400), plus they weren't even sure that they would get the mac fixed. And they said they were extremely busy and said it would take around two to three weeks just to send the computer for repair.
So we went to this other store where they fixed the mac within few days, and for a really low price. So, that just proves Apple can be a rip off.
There is really no use of a "Warranty" because i showed my warranty to them and they said that spill damages are not covered in warranties. So.... don't really waste money on purchasing extra warranty, because it doesn't really help you.

What was damaged and how much you got charged?

I have cleaned quite a few a liquid spills. A lot of them works fine after a good cleaning.

you got lucky that the one only needed a top case/keyboard.

Having worked at a high volume Apple repair shop I can tell you it's a crapshoot. Sometimes I would see a little corrosion on the logic board and an alcohol swab would clean it nicely and start working again. Sometimes though that wouldn't work and the board (at least, who know what other components might get damaged) needs replacing.

Saw water, beer, soda, coffee, pee, vomit, all sorts of stuff...can't believe that some people would try to get their Macs repaired in the condition some of them were in.
