OK - I went there on my 3GS, and slid the slider, and now I've been staring at a purple nebula for a few. Hope it isn't stuck or something.

Information won't pop up after the slide as of now, but earlier it did. A screen would pop up and it'll start download the jailbreak to your phone.

Went onto the modmyi url, clicked slide to jailbreak. Though it doesn't appear to be doing anything. Is it downloading in the background? Because I see no spinny wheel thing.

Its NOT downloading, you'll know if it were. A screen will pop up with a progress bar.
