This is scam, a big scam. If you also ve paid them through a credit card. You must call your bank to change your card details .i am a testimony to this, they even blocked me from their Facebook page coz I posted my experience . Those positive post u see might be fake Facebook account belonging to them. Be warned

officialiphoneunlocks.co.uk

I came across this site while looking to have my iPhone 4 factory unlocked, I did a check and it said unlock available so i went ahead and let my friend use his credit card to get me the unlock ;) this was on Feb 7th, about three weeks after still nothing.
I checked my order status and it said "in cue" so i message them, they said give them about 2-3 weeks it's now April. I asked if I can be refunded since it seems like i'm not getting anywhere, to my disbelief they said they can cancel the transaction but cannot refund me because my transaction was a pre-order so I will have to use it with another handset if i wanted to, this is after they said an unlock was available.
I am so pissed off with how this business has operated the phone is locked to Bell in Canada they couldv'e said not available right now but they chose to say yes knowing they will hold onto my money once my order goes on cue  I hate when businesses operate like this so now i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place because i don't want to cancel and I don't have another handset which needs to be unlocked. Piss Poor

hey, i was looking for a website to IMEI unlock my iphone 4 on 5.1.1, and i stumbled across this website? i saw the testimonials and it seems pretty trust worthy, but i just wanted to double check on this trusted site. anyone have any advice or any other websites? the prices are great, £59.99 which is i believe 120 for any AT&T iphone.

I got my 4S unlocked using that site before I sold it on eBay. Took a couple days but since it was unlocked I'll say it's legit.

I've read reviews for other carriers having issues, but AT&T phones get unlocked fairly quickly.

Just dispute the charge with the credit card.

And not to pile on, but next time it would be good to research a company before you do anything, especially of the pay-first online variety.

Scam

I ordered an Iphone 5 unlock for EE which they pretend to be immediate and give you no warmings that it is in fact a "Pre order" they take your money then send you an email informing you that you are in a queue to pre-order the unlock on a first come first served basis and you will have to wait two weeks to find out if you are the lucky one, if you are then they say they may charge you additional costs for the unlock!
So yes its is a SCAM!!!
I'm in the process of following a complaint with OFT and Small Claims Court.
BEWARE

I have never used them but I do see a trend.

- Website says Unlock is available
- Customer buys at low price
- Customer is strung on for 2-3 weeks before customer tries to contact.
- Customer succeeds in contacting but unfortunately gets told that they 1) need to pay more, or 2) it is not unlockable and money cannot be refunded.

Seems to me that they are trying to string people on long enough to get them out of the period where the customer can be refunded so that they cannot do anything about it.

It's called a chargeback and is the only real benefit of using credit cards to pay.

Interesting to see many people creating a MacRumors forum accounts just to post their experience of being scammed...

You paid how much? I spent 2.00 getting mine unlocked.

For the users in the Uk I dont understand why your tempted to use online services like these.

Going through the actual Network is going to always be a better and safer solution.

For instance on the 02 Network I use its free for contract customers, and £15.00 / $23 for pay as you go customers.

I registered here just to share my BAD experience

I preorder my iphone unlock for 20 pounds, after I paid I got a message saying that when my unlock is available I will be required to pay the remaining balance. Through the purchase process I did never see any of this info, it looked totally as if 20 pounds was the final price. When I asked the for a refund this is the answer I got "We cannot supply a refund for the Pre-Orders as there is cost associated with them that we cannot recoup." I turns out that this info about preorders is at the very bottom of the FAQ section. I told this to Customer "Support" and they constantly ignored me and answered random things to the many emails I sent,. Besides that when I paid for my unlock the website stated "unlock will be available soon". After one month and a half waiting I asked them for a refund again due to this new lack of transparency and coherence and this answer is all I got: "Its no ones fault it just the simple fact that there is no unlock available at this time, as soon as there is we will be the first to know and we will notify you."

They have made me regret having used their "service" and now I will try to prevent others from being treated as I have been.

officialiphoneunlock

It is a scam. Avoid - do not use. I have paid them £60 and they will not refund. Their claims are a lie and a scam. Reply to this thread if you want full details. I am taking the matter further

I won't mention the web as i guess here its against the forum rules but you can direct talk to him. His rates are very reasonable alos you ll be able to see the previous reviews and i assure you won't regret after trying his services.

Skype id: rizxx_ali

Talked to the gentleman at this Skype handle, very cooperative and nice guy. Tried to help me with getting my phone unlocked through AT&T without having to pay for code. I was not able to actually go through with it, but I definitely believe its legitimate.

They are cheats, they scammed me

OfficialiPhoneUnlock is a big SCAM, they ordered unlocks from our company and are now refusing to pay, we have all transactions documented in emails showing that they ordered unlocks, we also ordered a SPAIN Orange iPhone unlock from their website, we got a response saying that this service was not available, when we asked for a refund they did not respond. This company is a fraud, and I will post this review on as many sites as possible to let everyone know that they cheat people

I also had a very good experience with this guy. Very gentle and cooperative indeed..
Unlocked two of my 5 S in less than 8 working days :)

Bait and switch

This is a bait and switch company, total rip off, save your 30 Pounds and stay away from this site. I should have known when the people that used to unlock phones for me (yes, I own an Apple consulting firm) stopped doing it. I was on a trip to Europe from USA and decided to unlock my phone through the site. Of course the trip ended with no reply, just in progress... It took officialiphoneunlock.co.uk one month to say: "Your handset is barred/blacklisted/In-Contract, as per our terms and conditions we cannot refund you. There may be a barred/In-Contract service available to unlock your handset for an additional fee (see below if available). Alternatively as a goodwill gesture, we can credit your account for use on another unlock. Simply use the Support tab." What is this? If my phone wasn't in-contract I wouldn't need to unlock it!! It would already be UNLOCKED!! I feel like I'm being talked to by people who think I'm an idiot. Now they say that for another 62 Pounds they will unlock an in-contract phone!!! I cant believe people like me fall for all these "great reviews" that are probably just written by themselves.

The same happened with my friend. First they quote clean imei price and when ordered and everything had finalized they replied the iPhone is barred and there is no refund policy. However they asked for more money to settle the old payment with new fee..

Wow i can't believe how many people got scammed

It's common knowledge that the majority of site reviews are fake, same goes for websites with similar services that have Twitter or Facebook accounts with thousands of followers or fans.

I am in no way associated with ChronicUnlocks but i believe it's 100% legit.

Big scammer of all times

I ordered unlock on 18 march for iphone 5S locked to sprint. During this i tried contacting on support but no one ever tried to reply. After time passed, i called and even emailed that time is up and unlock not delivered. Suddenly in 5 min i received email saying that your phone is blocked / barred. I thought for a moment that they might be right but believe me i confirmed from carrier, and many online third party services. Even the one mentioned by them i.e www.checkmend.com . And it was clearly mentioned that your phone has never been locked or barred. I sent the same report to them that my phone is not blocked/ barred but no one replied.

In short www.officialiphone.co.uk is a big theif to say the least.stay miles away otherwise you will loose money.

Meanwhile i am going to report him to almost all chanels so that no one else is robbed again.
I ll try to catch him as much as i can. I ll keep you updated on the situation.

For me the experience with the above mentioned vendor is going very good..

So far done with many iPhone's locked to different carriers worldwide.

I must say he is 100% legit with the most fair rates and less duration.

They did not unlock my Verizon iPhone 4S. Has all signs of a big time scam. They sent me a message:

"
The IMEI you gave us is marked as BLOCKED, usually meaning it's a lost or stolen handset, but handsets can be blocked for any number of reasons including non-payment of bills, blacklisted, bad ESN and/or contract issues.

Usually we do not refund barred handsets, but as a goodwill gesture your order for Official Factory Unlock for 990001049896269 (iPhone 4S) locked to Verizon USA has been cancelled and £ 39.99 has been transferred into your Official iPhone Unlock Trade Account.

Simply place an order as normal on our website and use this email address when purchasing, £ 39.99 will be discounted from your order and you simply pay the difference (obviously if the unlock cost is the same or less, nothing extra needs to be paid and any remaining funds can be credited against a further unlock)."

After I placed another order with them for another IMEI I found the same message after a few days. Boths IMEIs were clean and I could unlock them via keys2iPhone eventually.
