I'm sorry, but when I'm asked to pay $500+ for lesser hardware, I feel I need to ask why. OS X is a good OS, but it's not one without problems.

EDIT: My daughter has used both Windows and OS X, and I know she prefers the latter. Ultimately, if she decides she must have a Mac, Mac it will be. I'm such a wuss when it comes to my kids
