Right There --->
We all have gone through the highs and lows of all the rumors suggesting the release of Merom MBPs.
So, whats the final word?
Is it going to release this month, christmas time or next year?
Please elaborate your reasoning rather than just stating "Next Month" or "2007" (I know some people would want to say that)! :rolleyes:

I would suggest watching this thread , as the topic is being discussed quite heatedly!

There are also numerous other posts talking about this throughout the forum, and in the Macbook / Macbook pro forum.

::EDIT::
Nevermind, you are posting a poll :)

Going through 51 pages of posts.....naaaaaah....
And i also added the poll! ;)

I think we are most likely to see a C2D based MacBook Pro released before Thanksgiving, based upon rumors that I have heard of Apple updating the MBP before the holidays. :)

I think that you are right despite wether or not you were being facetious. The"Store" link on the Apple hompage has the latest Aperture revision in the heading and I don't see that lasting long - definitely not longer than a week. What else would replace it next Tuesday other than C2D notebooks?

i am starting to think apple isn't going to bother with a merom update until they do a complete redesign of the laptop, probably with the santa rosa chipset and maybe a few other "advances".

Isn't Leopard coming out in Spring 2007? That'd be Q2?

But I wouldn't be totally surprised if Apple bypassed Merom and just went straight to Santa Rosa. :eek:

Yup I was thinking about that too when Paul Otellini announced Core 2 Quad to be released in Q1 2007. But he added more uncertainty to mobile chips since he never clarified whether it's mobile or desktop Core 2 Quad... :(

Now I'm not making anymore guesses. I'm just waiting to see what move is Apple going to take.

i hope never, just to piss all of ya'll off for wasting so much time speculating instead of just buying and enjoying. ;)

just kiddin of course.
...sorta.

there are way too many posts on merom. if someone tries to start a new thread with merom in the title, it should go through a screening process and be thrown away unless VERY, as in I work for intel, important. there should be 1 merom thread! to answer all questions merom. merom, merom, merom. all the rest should be buried at the bottom of the sea.

all i see is merom, it is now imprinted on my brain and it wasnt a clean branding, it got smudged and stuff and is painful. etc. three words; WAIT. AND. SEE. or search, or dare i say it, research! or apply for a job at intel! choose whatever you want, and repeat them to yourself when you feel yourself itching to post yet another meorm thread. Rarrr. i now hate the word merom, i hate it, i dont even know what it stands for anymore. hah! wee!!! [dances off madly]

sorry for the rant....time for bed methinks, ive been awake for too long.

If Merom is so damned important to your health and well being, go and buy a bleeding PC laptop with one.

Apple will release when its good and ready not because a couple of fanbois want the shiniest CPU, and then have the comment "Safari seems snappier".

Please people no no no more merom threads. The only fun reading in them is the bitching from people who couldnt give rats a** about it. I loves me a good beehive to kick every now and then...

You only think that it says Merom, it actually says the most mentioned word on MacRumors in the past several months. ; )
