I find it interesting too that he says the sport band is like any other plastic band he's worn while John Gruber calls the sport band "luxurious" (in a mostly objective review).
 
So is there going to be an effort to discredit every reviewer of the watch ? Seems a bit petty paying this guy out on every thread. So verge gave or a 7/10. Buy the watch, enjoy it, but the crusade to convience everyone it's much better, is it worth it?

Relax. I thought it was funny that someone wearing a bracelet like that would consider the milanese loop band "ridiculous".
 
I was thinking how silly he looks wearing his Billy Idol starter kit spike wristband during his review. The real high point was his breakaways about the annoyance of the notifications while he was wearing that wristband in a public place.

Patel seems to be reasonably fit and exercises. When you sweat, plastic band feels horrible. Gruber sits 24/7 on his ass. The only times he sweats is when he runs to the bank to cash in his Apple Pay-check. :D
 
Wait a minute. That's not photoshopped in? I thought it was a joke. I haven't worn anything like that since I was a teenager in the 80's. :eek:

Why are you defending Nigel? He's the only one with an overly biased article, which is why we are against him. There are other negative reviews, but those at least are objective, his is not

Even if he gave the watch a 10 I would still laugh at that stupid bracelet.
 
I like that guy from the Verge, but I was thinking how obnoxious that bracelet is and that tweet is in fact hilarious. What is he thinking wearing that studded mall-metal bracelet?
 
A classic Strawman - the criticisms of #⌚️ must be invalid because the reviewer is wearing something to laugh about. :D
 
So yeah, it's his thing, I still carry my checkerboard op wallet from 1983 and wear checkerboard vans so I'm sentimental about stuff, but saying that the watch band was silly... Umm hey I think it's fine to rock your own look, but you have to know when you call something else silly....

I wear whatever I want, I'm completely silly:p BUT I avoid calling anyone silly for wearing something I may not like.

This is funny because of the context,
but I LOVE people with ***** to do what they want.
 
The suit and the dog collar around his wrist do not go well together IMHO.

He may as well do his hair in a mullet.

This is why I don't care about scores from the verge. somehow the moto 360 is an 8.1/10 and the apple watch is a 7/10.... I don't have anything totally against the moto, but after wearing one for a bit it seems like the apple watch is going to be much better.
 
You guys are rather graceless.

That's Nilay's cuff; he's worn it for the last 15+ years. It's deeply sentimental to him as it serves a commemorative purpose.
