If this isn't BS then this is one of the dumbest, unnecessary, most "WTF?" ideas I've heard... and you're trying to share it with others!

Aaaanyway, good luck jamesr242. A bit of a risk but it may be just fine and you sound alright if it doesn't. Let us know how it turns out. 🙂

how is it dumb? i have 30gb worth of music on my MacbookPro and can only fit 16gb on my iTouch
.... imagine that!

Well you didn't say that (that you needed 30gb of music for ride-tunes) in your post. I still think it's a silly idea to use a MBP as an iPod on the move. If you don't want to spend the money on a larger iPod I hope you're content to spend more if your MBP croaks from your decision to do that. Or do you have applecare and a good excuse story?
It's your stuff, doesn't bother me one way or another but I felt compelled to reply because it struck me as bizarre.

Your not going to listen to more than 16gb on a ride, or even a long haul. Take off the crap you never listen to put on more good stuff.

4GB shuffle does me just fine. I may also be the only one in the world that truly appreciates the remote option since I can control the music via the remote. In-ears + shuffle = awesome for riding.😀

im going to purchase a 32gb iTouch in the next couple of months after coming back from holiday!

and when i have my mac in my bike its wrapped up safe in the sleeve and in a bag full of clothes! its usually when i do a trip of more than 100 miles i take the MBP.
