I don't blame you. Now, that's a great deal!

there are only 50 left..according to the girl at teh computer store. i would run down there and buy it myself but im not a student, luckily my sister is so she can get it..i'll be getting it monday.

i thought about the new one..but the SR 2.4 ghz is going for $1499 at my sister's college book store...so imma grab that one..too good of a deal to pass up :D

That is a good price. Most benchmarks show these two machines neck and neck. You are giving up some battery life, multi-touch and HD space for $300. I think it is a fair trade.

160 GB is more than enough for me...well for now at least. i have an old 60 GB from my dead compaq that i could use as an external. i can live without multi touch and was planning to get an iPhone later anyways. how much battery life would i be giving up?

The batterys I dont think are much differnt Ill let you know what happens with mine maybe be an hour of battery life?

i think the difference is moe than 300.. including taxes.

Penryn MBP $1999
Merom MBP 1499

i think roughly it's about 500 bucks!

oh wait, you factored in the student discount.. so it's $1799

still, the diference can be used to buy RAM, an EXternal HDD etc

What size hdd is the best for the money?

kinda depends on how much content you have (and how much you reasonably foresee needing), doesn't it? I have a 160 on my new SR MB, and since it's not nearly full, spending any amount for a bigger one would be a waste, no matter how good the GB/$ ratio was.

yea thats true even A good 500gb well Do the job for me. Theres any chance of ssd in the Mbp That would be sweet!!

Trade In

I called Apple and they said the would give me a new macbook pro for my old Dell M1710 plus free shipping!!
