Yeah, it's so much better than the ones in Samsung phones. Samsung set the best panels aside for the iPhone X. When they were making them.

Wow. Some of you guys just can't see a joke because you are too busy trying to tell us that Samsung makes and has been using the displays for a long time (everyone knows that already).

You don't get it. IPX display is new class of screen technology called Super Retina HD that significantly improved on OLED. It is far superior to low grade OLED panel used in samsung. ;)

I was rocking an oled display on my note 2 around 7 years ago. Ive had a few other oleds since.
Its nice to see on the new iPhone and am genuinely stoked for anyone looking forward to it but it does nothing for me personally, my enthusiasm just isnt there for this particular feature. Been there Done that.

Oversaturated, most likely not. Bet they'll definitely be more vibrant than their LCD counterparts. At least I hope so. They seem like it in the hands on videos but it's hard to tell.

Well because OLED is an emissive display that eliminates the washout due to lack of contrast in LCDs, yes. But that’s not a bad thing in any way!

This is what I'm most looking forward to as well. Mainly the deep blacks. Just booting the phone up you will notice it straight away, the screen will be pure black rather than the bright grey-black that we currently have. Not to mention Apple's dedication to colour accuracy combined with that insane contrast ratio. Regarding the piss yellows, I'm hoping we don't have a similar situation on our hands with pink tinted screens which is common with OLEDs. Hopefully we won't have such MacRumors threads like: "Does your iPhone X have a pink tint to it?? returning mine!!" come release day.

But what you're not considering, is when you frequent a tech site, and the thousands of iPhone owners who receive an iPhone on launch day and come here and talk about their experiences, not everyone one of those devices will be perfect. There will be those who compare defects and find out what others are experiences are like as well. So naturally there will be complaining and there are those who will discuss their appreciations.

When the new iPad Pros launched back in June after WWDC, there were loads of threads of those talking about yellow displays, stuck pixels, faulty speakers, etc. A tech site is a natural occurrence for those to congregate about the good and the bad of all devices. That's what happens when A device is mass-produce, they will have the defects.

Happy with the move to OLED. It isn't necessarily new across the tech world, but it's new to iOS users. Also, happy Apple waited until a lot of the issues were resolved.

Love OLED displays and one thing i wish apple had for years so pleased it's on it's way. The notch? Yeah it stands out but i like this better than the 7 plus design

The joke is that Apple customers are drip fed and overcharged for tech that other companies not just Samsung have had for years.

Not only that but they get charged an extra 200-300 for the wait. Redic

Nevermind, you already mentioned overcharged.

Its honestly bizarre how many people dont/cant see this. Or simply just dont care but truth is apple have been playing catch up for years.

Dont get me wrong, i enjoy my iphone. I enjoy other devices, i often switch between iOS/Android, but if i let myself think too much about apples tactics & Quite frankly, contemptuousness they show to their users, it just leaves me cold.

The £1000 X will ultimately test customer loyalty but the test isnt exactly fair if loyalty is blinded to the reality that no matter how its diced users are paying premium for mediocre and 'arguably' dated specification.

Why do people act like theyve never seen OLED before? Youve seen it in TVs, youve seen it in other phones. It doesnt just magically look better just cause its on an iphone now. Its not a whole new experience.

AirPod.

Wireless headphones have existed for years now.
