Man, just when I'm loving the feeling of naked iPhone 4, I come upon this thread :( Although someone said that they've had an iP4 since launch day and the coating has not worn off yet? If that's true, that'd be great, because I have a launch-day iP4 as well.

How can someone reapply the oleophobic coating? Or how much does a new screen cost?

If you think it's such a sweet deal go sign up.

What's the deal with people making arguments by putting words in the mouths of others? Are you for real? Where did I say I thought it was a good thing? I would never wish foul upon anybody but every person has the same opportunity to make something of themselves and make their own money. People being granted money for food and housing because they can't figure out how to use proper birth control methods is a sad thing. I love that I live in a country that looks out for its people but with our deficit I sincerely believe the funds could be put to much better use.

There's certain apps that will speed up the wear of the coating. Veggie Samurai is one fantastic example. It's really going to depend on your usage.

Hate to break it to you, but they remove the coating when they apply the Ghost Armor. ;)

It would not adhere properly if they left it there.

This is my first post here. Please forgive me, but that just isn't true. However, the coating is useless when you apply a skin, of course. I cover all of my devices out of the box. So, for me the coating doesn't really matter.

Fire suit on!

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4 (32GB, JB): Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Same here. I usually find a reason to get a replacement every three to four months - always for legitimate reasons - but mainly for a new, oleophobic screen.

You can save time and deliberations by purchasing 3 pack of screen protectors yet you take full advantage of Apple even though your phone isn't even in dire shape.

I never can understand these people.

Excuse my childish thoughts, but I'd love to smash his phone so he can no longer trade in for a new one every quarter... All products wear out, it is expected from all consumers, and the fact is even stated in the manual... Deal with it and buy a screen protector. I wonder if his clothes still have the tags on it, and never washed, so he can return it to exchange for new ones. :D
