crap I can't believe I missed this I wasn't looking for it because I thought the only 16GB kit was the OWC one
I ended up purchasing a Samsung 830 256GB SSD and this 16GB Corsair RAM kit from NewEgg last night. This will be going in a late-2011 15" MBP 2.5GHz HiRes-AntiGlare.
The best part is - I haven't even ordered the MBP yet! But I figured a deal like this was too good to pass up!![]()
I have a early 2011 2.2GHZ mbp with 8 gigs of ram.. can I upgrade to 16 GB?
No. The deal's over.Hi,
is this deal dead already?
Could you guys tell me whether I can stick these 16GB (2x8Gb) into my MD313 MBP? (I thought the max. RAM for MD313 is 8GB max all this time)
Please let me know, and thanks in advance.
No. The deal's over.
Your MBP uses 1.35v RAM anyway. The sale RAM is 1.5v... more suited for 15" & 17" MBP's.
You can still get 16gb for under $400 though.
In a few weeks, it'll be down to $189 permanently, and then weeks later, down to $99
RAM prices will always go down, so no worries if u missed this sale. I predict by February, you can grab a 16GB kit for about $129 or so...

I bet you're right. And if not, you'll be close.
At $99, I'd buy it just for the hell of it.
1 8gb for $94.99

Adds up to 189.98 for 16GB
I may be wrong, but it won't improve system performance unless you are already using all the RAM you currently have.
For example, if you have 8GB currently, and you only use 5 at any given time, upgrading to 16 won't do much, if anything at all, for you.
If you don't need the extra RAM, and don't have an SSD yet, look into that first to improve performance.
I just upgraded from 4 to 8 myself (only 35 dollars) and I don't think I have gained much if anything at all since I never use that much. But it all depends on what and how many applications you run at a given time.
