I have had this 16GB of memory in my MBP for 7 days now. My MBP has been ran like I typically do for 15 to 16 hours a day all without a single problem. 10's of hours of video has been edited through it, in addition to web surfing, playing music, photoshop, Word, Excel, IM and FTP all without a hitch. I am running a Momentux XT Hybrid drive and since adding this memory I have not really seen any beach balls and defiantly no freezes or lag.

I know I posted before but now after a week or so of use I would never go back to anything less than 16GB.

Everything is much, much faster. Lion is as fast as a new install of SL back in the day.

I have no lag or beach ball visits. I only seem some minor page outs when I really, really push the system with multiple VMs, Eclipse, Photoshop, Office, Xcode, and some other apps running.

For the price, I think even moderate users should upgrade for the performance perk.

I would add this to my Xmas list if you haven't done so yet. :)

Hey... I know similar questions have been asked, but is the 2009 i7 2.8 GHz capable of using a 16GB stick?

Theres no such thing as a 16gb stick made for notebooks for consumers.

2x8gb = 16gb is your max (assuming that you have 2 ram slots and may use 8gb each)

For 96.99 or $76.99 after MIR, you can get a 8gb stick here

"Everymac says no.."

32GB is known to be supported from companies like OWC and actually Everymac confirms that specifically on this page; http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...inch-aluminum-mid-2011-thunderbolt-specs.html

By default, 4 GB of RAM is installed as two 2 GB SO-DIMM modules. Two slots free.

*Officially, this model supports four 4 GB modules -- one in each slot for a maximum of 16 GB of memory. However, third-parties have discovered that it actually will support 32 GB of memory using four 8 GB modules.

My actual question was has anyone tried it with this specific brand of ram.

Damn why did I only buy it like a week before this sale… it's still only $199…

(one per customer limit, so bring a friend).

hey bruvs thx for the link. i managed to order two in a single transaction. i did see a note regarding one per customer, but it was in reference to HDDs, due to Thailand flooding / limited availability..
