Yes it's annoying but there are some real simple ways of dealing with it.

This site just follows what Apple is up to and recently Apple are all about their small devices. It's called macrumors because Apple's biggest market was at one time of course the Macintosh. Sure AppleRumors might be more accurate (the domain is owned by arn and redirects here, BTW) but name/brand recognition is a powerful thing and I doubt arn and co are really interested in changing that to suit a few who just don't get it.

Damn, totally just beat me to that.

Just for the OP though, Arn could just replace all the 'Mac' parts of Macrumors references on this site when he enters from applerumors.com. That way he gets what the domain suggests.
