Surprised you've never seen that before. Happened all the time at my last job. I made it a point of always walking into a stall and waving my arm in front of the automatic flusher. Those toilets flushed LOUD. :D

Still not as bad as the guy that would always need to dry his hands, but he never washed them. One day after a number 2 he again needed to dry, but not wash his hands. Yuck.

You shoulda just yelled to him, "Hey, dude. Get off the phone! You're on the toilet!" and then booked it on outta there. Hopefully the person on the other end of the line would hear that too.

When did it become acceptable to talk on your cell phone while taking a loud dump in a public restroom? I just heard someone doing this in our office restroom! RUDE!

it's only rude to the person on the other end of the phone.

i think that's kind of funny haha

Simple solution, yell out your most fierce war cry and body check the stall door then book it. Guaranteed to put the fear of god into his stall-talking self.

IMO the bathrom needs to be a quiet place. Don't call it meditation for no reason. Cell phones are ok. It's people's manners that need to be worked on. A nurse was giving me some morphine when her cell went off. She answered it and started yelling! Unacceptable.

THAT would not surprise me at all. I mean if he's rude enough to take a dump while talking to someone on the phone...

I'm not sure which is worse, your story, or the time I was walking between building on campus during my undergrad days and overheard a sorostitute talking very loudly into her cell about her "gross-looking vaginal discharge and rash".

I sense a pattern of needing to return to refresher courses in telephone etiquette. Possibly just etiquette in general.

Oh man thats terrible. With manners like that its not hard to imagine how she got it.

Quite. Some people have no sense of shame or propriety with things like that. It's one thing to have a good sense of bathroom humour, but quite another to bring into real life and involve others so casually. Some things are just better left, well, in the stall.

I agree it's sorely lacking in the newer generations. Etiquette and good manners have really gone downhill, even just that I've observed in my lifetime. We don't all have to be stuffy about it, but there's always a place for good manners. You can be considerate and polite w/o being stuck up.

I feel like my Dad saying this, but people today need some more manners.

There are just certain times where cell phones are not appropriate. Another time is the gym. There is a guy at mine that talks on his bluetooth while working out... not between sets... like grunting over the phone in the middle of some squats. Just weird...

Oh yeah- well I heard one talking about her mom's mastectomy in detail on the train. Not quite as bad, but still.

Sorry guys, I'm going to go against the grain and say that I have done this a few times. If I get an important call, I am not going to ignore it, I'm going to answer it. I try to make sure no one is around, but if they are, well then I guess they'll just have to make a thread about it on their favorite message board (hell, that's what I would do!).

You are what is ruining America.

(and I'm half serious).

If it's an important call, and I'm siting on the crapper, it can wait. Nothing is that important.
