here is another shot.
Did you put your iPhone along side those in the shop without the yellow tint?
It might be that the the lightening conditions and brightness reduce the visibility of the yellowy screen.
I still highly doubt that shop one have a blue tint like the 3GS.
I think ALL iPhones have yellow screens.
Here are the two iPhones side by side to see the difference. Yellow tinted iPhone 4 is on the left and the whiter iPhone 4 is on the right.
Yes compared them on the same page, ie brightness screen set to the same level with auto off side by side.
Mine was more warmer yellow hue, the ones in the store were more blue like the 3GS
Thanks for that update Greg.
Can you tell me though were the display ones 16GB? I've noticed a trend of shop display units having the cool blue hue as well as 16GB units.
It would also make sense for them to display the 16GB units.
I had a look at your pictures and it seems that your phone definitely has the Yellowy screen.
Don't worry too much though, i got one like that as well. Along with MOST people.
Now the question is: should we just return it for a refund and come back in say a month once the models have improved?
Hmmmmm.....
If I were you I'd return it. That's just not good enough for the money.
I'm planning to return it for a refund this week. I'll come back later when they start putting the cool blue screens in the 32GB model.
Antenna issue was not an issue for me nor the proximity sensor.
I'm not happy with the screen though.
iPhone 4 (left) vs 3G (Right)
im going to exchange it
Took a pic of my new iphone 4 in comparison to the old iphone.
Pics were taken at 50% brightness and at 100%.
I have yet to compare mine to another iphone 4 to see if mine is warmer than the rest.
Thanks for that update Greg.

the thing is. its not really yellow as in yellow. some of the screens are really hard yellow it has problem. mine is less blue thats all..
and to be honest today i comapred the wallpapers in IOS in both 3gs with blue screen and my screen. and mine were so much better " real feeling in them "
the blue in my eyes now look really very ugly .
as matter of facts. people did some tests here. and the results that the phones with less blue are actually the better phones
Same here mine is just less blue. In fact the white to black contrast is really good on the ones with the yellow hue compared to the bluer ones.
Im going to keep mine as I think this is actually the more accurate color calibration.
On mine its not really yellow. If you look at certain pages on the phone the white is REALLY white way more so than the ones with the bluer tint.
I am glad I checked around as I almost took mine back but after really looking at some others, I am not going to go back to the blue hue.
exactly.
the other day i was comparing images like fire, images, water , sea and stuff.
and really the blue one is just flat out ugly compared to the new screens .
No, both those phones are messed up (or the lighting is just bad). The one on the left is way to "cool" and the one the right is way to "warm."![]()

This is absolutely hilarious.
Oh how history repeats itself.
I got a launch day 3GS. It was piss yellow. People swore up and down that the new screens were simply warmer. All the arguments in this thread were all said about the 3GS. Then people noticed the in-store models, and other models in the wild, had clear blueish beautiful screens.
Everyone swore it was color calibration, and that it would be fixed in a future update.
Finally we all realized the truth. We had DEFECTIVE SCREENS.
I got mine switched out, the new one had a nice beautiful screen, and no worries.
If you have a yellow tinted screen, GET IT REPLACED. Don't be fooled by the "better colors", "warmer" argument or "wait for firmware" BS. You need a new phone.
