If any of you do replace your thermal paste, please do yourself a favor and apply it correctly. Too many times I see people cover the entire core with a thick layer of thermal paste. All you need is, no kidding, about the size of a BB. Just press the heatsink on flat over the core and screw it on evenly (as in don't tighten one side down all the way then the other).
Anyway, I have a 2.2ghz SR 15.4" MBP and I get about 51c at idle. I'll probably replace the thermal paste when I upgrade the hard drive one of these days.
EDIT: Oh man, I just looked at the ifixit guide and realized you have to pull the logic board out and it basically sits on top of the heatsink. Looks like fun.
