As I said, if a friend buys the macbook in the USA and brings it to me in Peru. Will I be able to use the warranty here? (We have two premium resellers here). Do I need to register the product for that or what are the requierements?

Thanks.

As much as I have loved my 13 inch i7 MBPr in most ways, I do have a reservation: in the 9 days since I bought it, it has crashed twice. Both crashes happened while I had VMware Fusion running and Windows 7 loaded in the virtual machine, so they could be the culprit. Even so, I wish stuff like that wouldn't happen. My old 2010 13 inch MBA would run for weeks or even months at a time with nary a crash.

Thanks for asking! My MBPr hasn't crashed since the times I described in my earlier post and I continue to be very impressed with its speed. The big deal, though is the Retina display. I read every Web page easily without enlarging the size of the font. I was never able to do that on non Retina displays. In short, so far, so good. I am very pleased.

If you were going to buy a 15" I would advise against it, especially as you cannot return it. It took me 5 replacements to get a 15" without issues.

It seems the 13" ones have better QC for some reason.

What issues did you have? Just ordered mine
