Mine got into Oakland last night, also. Arrived at my local FedEx facility this morning around 9am, and was in my hands at home at around 10:30am.
So far so good! No issues. (space grey 512)
It came with OS X 10.10.2, so first order of business after the initial configuration was to update to 10.10.3. That's in process right now, almost done.
Very sleek, sexy looking machine. Space grey color is wicked looking, IMO. It's light, and feels a bit lighter because it really is well balanced in the hand. Makes my old Air look big and chubby, lol. The footprint is quite small, but the screen has not struck me as too small yet. I'm running it at the default resolution for now, and so far I like it just fine for what I do.
Didn't have any problems with FileVault. No hangs or beach-ball. It booted very quickly.
While the updates were downloading, I fiddled with the trackpad and keyboard. The trackpad is every bit as magical as everyone else says. It requires less pressure to "click" than the one on my old MBA, and can be clicked anywhere. The glass flexes, but doesn't actually move in a mechanical click. The haptic feedback is so well tuned that you have to think about the fact that it's simulating the feel of a mechanical click. And ForceTouch is very easy to activate. Just keep pressing past the initial press and it simulates another click. Nice.
The keyboard is different, for sure. But I don't find it harder to use. Mentally. My brain wants to press the keys differently, because they feel different. But you don't have to. If you tell yourself to type normally, at first you feel like you're not applying enough pressure to actuate all of the keys. But you are, and that mental hesitation goes away very quickly. The keys are very well tuned.
The backlighting is sweet. Very little bleed at the edges of the keys. Yes, some of the keys with words on them ("Command", "return", etc...) show a slight variation in their lighting across the text of those words. The LEDs appear to be in the middle of those keys, and so the light is brightest at the middle, and slightly dimmer toward the lateral ends of the words on those keys. But I don't care. It looks great.
So far, it seems fast loading programs, and I haven't seen any kind of lag in the OS animations at all. While downloading and installing updates, the computer does get a bit warm on the underside, like an iPad does while playing a video or a game. My iPad Air has gotten much warmer than this has, so far, though. But I haven't done anything taxing like games or photoshop... Simply because they really aren't part of my normal use.
Loving it so far! Oh, and the Space Grey color truly does look awesome.
