Like some previous people said only the unlocked hurting money iPhones were bricked so I don't think apple will be out to get us touch hackers..

I will install it shortly after it is released, however not until I hear some people talk about/see some vids of it.

this is kinda where I stand

I probably won't rush to hack my touch, but I am pissed at the stance Apple is currently taking. And I've had it with the guys railing on about "it's an ipod, not a PDA" etc. It is a small computer, more powerful and capable in every way than my Palm TX - which I want to get rid of! How many specialized little gadgets do we need hanging around? Quite frankly I'd be happy with a iphone with more memory (if they ever come out in Canada that is), and full support for 3rd party apps. And none of this BS like removing google maps, stocks etc - let us manage those apps via itunes if space is a concern vs. the media, and definitely nothing stupid like removing bits of functionality from calendaring - that just shows complete contempt for their customers. Anyway, with that I could ditch the palm and my cell instead of having 3 devices clunking around - I just don't have enough pockets for that! And an eBook reader of some sort is a must - I've used the TX with an inferior screen for reading many books/magazines from online sellers, why not for this one? Oh yeah, because Steve doesn't have this feature in itunes yet where he can take a percentage of the action!!!!!!! If they were selling ebooks along with audiobooks on there you know this thing would support it already.
