There is really no hype outside of this forum and blogs about Apple. Apple does no advertising for it so the public really doesnt know anything unless they really follow Apple. The hype is made by people like the ones that frequent this forum...

I think the original iPhone had more hype really. The average consumer just thinks "There's a new iPhone coming out soon..." They really have no idea there's an announcement tomorrow or anything of these rumors about a 4S vs. 5 or any of that. Online tech sites and forums are hardly a proper representation of hype.

wait till around 5 am until the keynote, there wiill be rumors about apple giving the iphone 5 away for free to the first 500 customers.

Can you think of a bigger buzz for a product in "recent" (couldn't fit the whole thought into the topic) history?

Whatever happens tomorrow, Apple deserves major credit for creating such a frenzy for about the past six months. Absolutely brilliant even if unintentional.

The real question though is... can they capitalize on the hype? Or will they waste in one of the biggest letdowns in "recent" history?

If it's only an iPhone 4+ it will be a huge product launch blunder.
