Good thing most websites that use flash either have duplicate non-flash equivalents, or if they don't, are useless.

I honestly have maybe once ran into something I couldn't do on my old 3g, and I've had it almost two years now.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

In other news, man lands on moon.

OP did you seriously think you're the first to post about this "shortcoming"??

Just the facts people....
Fact: The world use GSM/HSDPA, not CDMA. Your Droid X is only available and usable with 1 provider in 1 country. iPhone is/going to be available worldwide. Yeah, you don't have Steve Jobs telling you how to use your phone, but you have Verizon instead.

Try the argument again using the Nexus One, then you might have a leg to stand on.

you have no clue about software at all.

Flash is wreaking havok on Mac snowleopard safari with memory problems and freezing.

It is just NOT good enough to get a quality service using iPhone.

It would be better to write the flash software from scratch but more optimised.

Much much more optimised.

Just the facts people....

95% of Internet connected computers have Flash Player 10 installed.

70% of Web Games use Flash

75% of all Web Video is Flash

3 Million Flash Developers Worldwide

This new iPhone 4... deserves to have full access to All Web Content.

Too bad Steve Jobs Crippled It.

This is not a rant / I knew it to begin with. Just came across these facts from the Verizon Droid X event today. I'm on the list and can't wait to get one. While I truly enjoy the Apple ecosystem, I don't need to be told by the _Arrogant_ One (Steve Who?) what I can and cannot use my iPhone for.

I have Flash 10.1 installed on my 2.2 Droid, let me tell you it blows. It's choppy, slow, and makes my phone heat up to the point I could fry an egg. No thanks. Not until they make it reliable on mobile devices.

100% of web games in Flash are not designed to work with a Touch interface.
100% of flash video on the web is easily converted to be iPhone compatible (Mevio.com did it in a day).

I have seen several demos of Android running Flash and many of them hang/crash.

iphone is not a computer
robot unicorn is available for iphone in the appstore
there are other ways to play video besides flash
probably just as many web developers (point? there is none)

/thread?

I guess I'm not brain dead fanboy enough to say that Flash is bad. It isn't. And every time I have to put down my iPad and move to my computer just to view videos I'm reminded over and over again what an ****** Jobs is for not allowing it on the iPad.
