one thing I never got: lollipops in night clubs?

Umm...it's called being on ecstasy. Tweakers always like to suck on lollipops for some reason.
When you're coming down off of ecstasy or LSD, you tend to clench your jaw or grind your teeth. Some people like to have something to clench down onto like a lollipop or a pacifier. Then again some people like the lollipops because they think its some kind of come-on.
These. I see here in Houston people use those blow pop rings. Quite sad.

I am not into the ecstasy or LSD scene, so I guess many of the situations I've seen lollipops it was for the "come-on".
another idea I came up is it gives the girl something to grab onto that isnt vile. like if they dont know what to with their hands they can grab and hold lollipops.
my problem is whenever i use to eat lollipop i would develop a slight stream of sticky sugary syrup running down my arm. put that in a club environment and that is no fun.

Tried it once years ago and dug up my garden (it needed reseeding) at 4 am - in my underwear!!!

I thought as much. Vicks' inhalers used to be the accessory of choice to keep the high going a little bit longer. I don't recall lollipops at all.
I was going to say that I never got lollipops in nightclubs and I never took it personally.

I vote for the oral fixation deal;p A LOT of places round these parts [DFW] no longer allow smoking indoors.

I don't remember lollipops either, but Vicks was popular back in the early to mid 90s, as were poppers in clubs. Most guys mash on gum, though now that I think about it I do remember those kiddy sucker things making an appearance in the late 90s, dummy teets maybe you call them.. what went on after then I've no idea, haven't been clubbing in nearly a decade now.
Wouldn't be surprised if the smoking ban has something to do with clubs giving people props.

I certainly remember why I hated ecstasy. It made 4 hours go by like 4 minutes. Any drug that does that I want no part of.

you are right. and I always tend to end up my day wearing this attire - even on days I dont try.
sidenote: i do look eerily similar to this guy. must be the scene doing it to me.

LOL. Reminds me of being really coked this one time in the 80s. Got home around 4 and decided to rearrange the furniture in my bedroom. Of course, the stereo could no longer go on the right side of the shelving unit, it had to go on the left. That meant sawing a hole for the cables in the back of it. Let's just say my mom was not amused.
Oh, and Sunkist Fruit Gems were the candy all the clubs had.
you always have some of the older gentlemen look like that. but the young people - not so much.
