One-Third of iPhone Users Mistakenly Think They Have 4G

I hate when people on here refer to iPhone 4G (as in fourth generation) or iPhone 2g (as in original iPhone).

FYI, people:

iPhone introduced in 2007 was called: iPhone
iPhone introduced in 2008 was called: iPhone 3G
iPhone introduced in 2009 was called: iPhone 3GS
iPhone introduced in 2010 was called: iPhone 4

well that proves it. 1/3 of iphone users are stupid. i wonder how this ties in with the 1/4 of all americans are retarded thing.

It shows that a good portion of iPhone users don't know what they are buying other than its an iPhone and its cool.

It sucks because the iPhone is a phenomenal device.

4G Stupid!

And majority of the people think that 4G phone is actually a 4G, we're not even close to the actual 4G speed. And majority of 4G phone owners thinks that their phone is really super fast 4G even when they're connected to EDGE or 3G. It is what it is because majority of the people are ignorant about these things, and service providers are taking advantage of their stupidity. Wait until iPhone 5 will come out, these people think that this phone is super fast and they'll call it 5G!:D

100% of 4G users mistakenly believe they have 4G.

Not even LTE is really 4G, and not many people even have that.

I do, but can't use it because, wait for it, I have an iphone. (cue Debbie Downer sound effect). It was implemented in my area in the last two weeks.

just shows that average consumer is a complete idiot when it comes to technology. Average consumer buys on impulse. They don't know what the hell a certain technology is, they don't know why they want it or how they will use it, but because everyone is talking about it, they want it. Sad really.

Don't forget to survey how many consumers have an "iTouch"—a product that doesn't even exist.

Well, I blame Apple for calling the iPhone "2" the "3G". It would have been fine if they then didn't switch to using the suffix as a generation-indicator vs. feature set.

To be fair, at least when people say "iPhone 2G" we know what they mean. Sadly, it's less confusing than "I have a problem with my iPhone".

Which one??

I'm pretty sure the % of Androids is much more cause a majority of users are told its just like an iPhone. They don't even know what Android is. ;)

So I'm sure that the iPhone % includes the lost & found android guys as well. :)

I wouldn't say they are idiots as much as they just could give a crap. Obviously, we care about tech as we frequent a website like this one but to many people they could really care less about the guts of their cell phone as long as it does what they need it to do...make calls, play Angry Birds and update their Facebook status

I think the real scary part is that there is no way the entire 34% even has an iphone 4.

Certainly says a lot about the iPhone userbase. :p

People are dumb :(

It's so awesome when we have people we can look down on, huh?

Some of the smartest people I know have no clue when it comes to technology. Not being able to keep track of every little advance in some esoteric field of communication technology or the newest, biggest, buzziest acronym that comes along doesn't make someone a moron. Get off your high horses.

Consumers are generally ignorant, especially apple consumers in the last 5 years (only buying apple because of the logo and pretty looks, nevermind function).

This is why I always assume people are idiots until I'm shown otherwise. :D

Don’t be so judgmental. I guarantee each and every one of you would be classified an idiotic, retarded, morons if someone (equally judgmental) asked you about a field in which you have little or no interest. We can’t all be experts in all things, and should be grateful there are people who care about different interests so we can benefit from their expertise.
