Does anyone know why there still is no update for the North American version? We are stuck on .401 when the rest of the world has gotten .501 and .503 with February update which apparently makes battery life even better.

I was able to switch regions in Oxygen Updater on my Oppo X9P to update to the latest versions. On the OP15 it seems to block downloads from other regions, even if I use a VPN. Very irritating to be now 2 software update versions behind.
I'm on .501 and it is January security patch.

Just used oxygen updater and the February update was waiting for me
Still nothing for me. Stuck on .401 and December update.

*Edit- Oxygen Updater is letting me download the .503 February update EU file. If it works like Oppo I can just switch regions in Oxygen Updater and do the local system update trick to update to .503.

*Edit 2- the NA version of the phone doesn't allow local system update install. Bad form, OnePlus.

503 brings a brighter display and even longer battery. Epic.
No idea why North America gets royally shafted. Two updates behind and artificially prevented from doing a manual / local install for the update. I've been back on my iPhone as my daily due to my irritation over this 😂.

There isn't anything in the updates that you're missing!

People are saying that the battery life is even better on the latest update. I just saw a comment by OnePlus that the delays are due to carrier certification issues. Which does not surprise me at all. I hate the carriers with a passion. You provide me with a cellular signal, that's it. You should have zero control or input concerning phone features. In the U.S. this is why I like Apple and Pixel devices, although not currently using a Pixel I may go back in the near future.

From what I've read the 503 update for NA has been released in batches.
Google seems to operate this way, though they have gotten better. Apple sets the standard for OTA updates. I read that Oxygen Updater is not recommended by OP, in the event that an update causes problems and it's now on the phone. I can most definitely wait for the official release.

Oxygen updater is regarded as totally safe by the knowledgeable OP community, it may not be recommended by Oneplus themselves but I guess thats just because it's a third party app!

It still pulls the exact same OTA update files it just bypasses the typical waiting period. Providing you know what your doing it's safe, flashing a different region update ie Global to NA version is where problems can occur though! Although it can be done it's best not to.

My OP15r arrived today from Amazon. I'm waiting for my case to arrive from China but I absolutely love the mint green color. It's actually a very pale green which looks awesome.

This is the case I ordered, looking forward to it.

The case arrived yesterday from China. It looks amazing, just like in this picture. What's nice about it, is that it feels grippy and it's resistant to fingerprints. It waits to be seen how it holds up in the back pocket of my jeans. I ordered two just in case cause the case itself was under $6. It's a really stylish case.

Several of the reviewers on Amazon gave the 15r a 3-4 star rating for some of the dumbest reasons, such as it was made in India (boo-hoo), the security label on the box was scratched. Sounds more like they tried to find reasons to return it. As if the iPhone or any big name premium Android phone is perfect. I had to exchange my iPhone 13 for a dim screen at Best Buy.

My experience has been the total opposite and it's tough to complain when those buyers could have gotten the phone for basically $599. That's just $100 more than the launch of the Pixel 9a and possibly the 10a, though we are waiting for a price confirmation from Google on Weds, the 18th when it launches.

That said, the 15r is a massively better phone in almost every way. On my Pixel 9a, I can watch the battery percentage drop 2% in 5 minutes. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes for my 15r to go from 80% to around 76%.

As a side note, i'm liking one of the features of OxygenOS where you can pin an app page on the screen and you can move it around. It make it handy if you need to get back to a page you were previously using.

I am possibly interesting in getting the 15r at some point, I am an Iphone user and I have been for years now. I used to use an Android phone (a Samsung A53) but I hated that one and switched back to Apple. My main question about the 15/15r is how WIFI/Cellular works in the US, and how group chats with IOS users work, like if you are able to use existing group chats as an Android user when everyone else is using IOS.

What makes you want to leave iPhone out of interest?
