Grass is greener on the other side, I suppose. Not that I am 100% set on doing so at this current time, just considering it.
Greener? No!

Green, yes, just a different shade!

Both platforms pretty much do the same thing for most, there are some minor differences but each are enjoyable to me.

I'm in the UK so not fully clued up in cross platform messaging in the US but I believe now RCS is a thing it's no longer an issue.

Us over the pond don't have any issues as WhatsApp is the messaging app of choice!

Whatsapp is something I have never used, and will likely never use. Texting is my preferred means of communication.

I am possibly interesting in getting the 15r at some point, I am an Iphone user and I have been for years now. I used to use an Android phone (a Samsung A53) but I hated that one and switched back to Apple. My main question about the 15/15r is how WIFI/Cellular works in the US, and how group chats with IOS users work, like if you are able to use existing group chats as an Android user when everyone else is using IOS.

Using mine on Mint (TMobile) and have had no issues.
Group chats with iOS users as long as they have and you RCS active, it works well.
My use is intermittent as I have other devices I am testing.

Different updates.
The former was under Security and Privacy.
The new one was under Software Update.
Are you in the US? I am and still have not seen anything. I'm still at .401 which is the December 2025 update. I tap on system update and it says i'm up to date.

I forgot to mention OnePlus' interpretation of Apple's dynamic island. They use a punch hole and it changes to an interactive punch hole when you minimize certain apps that have notifications enabled. It's pretty slick.

Stumbled upon this app in the Pixel reddit. Finally solves the lack of widgets on lock screen and the AOD for the OP15. This is really the only key feature I was missing. You can add any app to the lock screen and AOD using this app. I sorely missed having my Google calendar on the AOD for me to view on my desk. Well worth the $2.99 on Play store.

So it has irked me enough that I'm back on my Pixel 10 Pro for the foreseeable, not being able to use gestures with a 3rd party launcher on the OP15 sucks! I don't like buttons so I will probably move the phone on which is a shame.

It may sound trivial to some of you but I do like to switch up the look of my phone fairly often with various launchers and that just bothers me, to the point that no matter how good the phone is in other areas that ruins the whole experience!

How about when you have an existent Imessage only conversation, and you switch over to Android, will it preserve your presence in the group chat along with message history?

I'm still floored by the speed in which the 15r downloads and applies its system updates. System update 5.03 downloaded, was applied, optimized and was ready for a restart in 5 minutes.

I tried two things - wasn’t 100% sure exactly what you meant.

1. In a group chat with iPhone only. I swapped my iPhone to my OP15 (eSIM) - same phone number. When I got back into he chat on the OP15, message history was not available.

2. In a group chat and added my OP15 (had both the iPhone and OP15 in chat). The OP15 does not get historical. Tried RCS only and added a new Android RCS, same function, no historical.

No matter what I tried, new additions were from the point of add only - no historical. This appears to be the standard function irrespective of the OS or device.
