Unless good ol' uncle Steve would devide the iMac line in, thinner + dual core and normal size + quad core...that would make sense, wouldn' it?

oh god!! for the first time i was rigth!! he divided the iMac line!!! except the part of having thinner and normal size iMacs.

BUT i was rigth! :D

OldCorpse - how are you?

When you're wrong, you're wrong - time to man up and admit it.

I could get off on a technicality (I built it in carefully), but I'm not gonna do it. Wrong is wrong.

The girls still like me, though :)

Seriously though, congrats Apple. I didn't think ya had it in ya. They'll make a ton of $$$. I'm personally buying the big quad core, and there are many people who are waiting for my signal (at work and friends too) - now I'm ready to give it to them (I told them to wait until 2010 before).

Again, it's been a blast, and nobody is happier than I am.

CONGRATULATIONS EVERYBODY - FANS FOR KEEPING THE FAITH - AND APPLE FOR A JOB WELL DONE!!

I LOVE YOU ALL!!

Wow. I'm impressed! I'm glad people are able to defend what they believe, and then admit they were wrong if they were. Wow again!

New Apple remote :)

...oh yeah, it's aluminum :)

Apple Remote

Control your Mac from afar with the sleek aluminum Apple Remote. Play, pause, adjust volume, move forward and back, and access menus while playing music and video.

The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos, and DVDs from anywhere in the room. It works with Front Row — a menu-based, full-screen interface — to make accessing the digital content on your Mac as simple as navigating your iPod. When you press the Menu button, your desktop fades and the sleek Front Row interface takes its place to give you control over your music in iTunes, your photos in iPhoto, the videos in your Movies folder, and your DVDs. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a movie trailer.

You can find it when customizing a mac :)

OMG, I just ordered the new Mac Mini. I upgraded to the 2.66 processor and ordered the new mouse. And I even paid the extra for faster shipping. (I can't stand it.)

I'm finally getting an Intel! I was so devastated when my G5 blew up, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Goodbye old friend.

I'm SO GLAD I rode this out!!! Today was my super duper all time final day of waiting. Really it was. (Unless somebody swore it would be Oct. 27 because they overheard somebody in an elevator.)

Hey peoples... I can't remember the old prices - did the MacBook Pro come down in cost at all? I thought so, but wasn't for sure.

Good time to buy a MBP, or should I hold out longer?!

I would've bought the quad, but as we'll have to wait till November anyway I'll take the opportunity to read a multitude of reviews on it.

I hate to admit, but I am more excited today with this unveiling ... then when my house went C/S last week. Wheeeee!! I can't believe the updates are this significant, for so much less $$$ ... WITHOUT AN EVENT!! Hahaha!!

Also got confirmation on my Mac Mini order from way back (Sept. 18) - it has been cancelled and I get to apply the $$$ to my new order.

Today is a good day!

Thank you all !!!!

First, thank you all for this thread (you too OldCorpse) !!!

Without it I would have lost the patience long ago and would feel like an ass right now;). At times, it´s been hilariuos as well:D

One question - I´ve been surfing around the web and don´t seem to find an answer:

If I want to watch 1080p movies from iMac connected to a projector for a screen size around 100", can the NVIDIA do the work? Anybody has experiences?

4850, is pretty good. i was hoping for a 5XXX though.

Why is apple still bothering with the nVidia chipset?

Only the C2D machines have Nvidia chipsets. It makes sense since otherwise they have to put a dedicated graphics card in everything.

I didn't think Steve was referring to the first quarter of 2010 - after all, you can introduce new products during any quarter, as long as it's 2010. So if it's calendar 2010, that qualifies. How do I know it is not the first quarter of 2010? Because that quarter is referred to by Steve as the holiday season (for which they already have a "very strong lineup") - then he makes a distinction with new product for 2010, subsequent to the holiday season. I AM THE GREATEST!!!

NO UPDATES!!!! this fiscal year!

Well...Well...

I have to teach about Latin American Power Bases during Colonialism tomorrow to 10th graders. Really should finish that lesson...:(....rather talk about the Clarksfield iMac that won't come tomorrow:D

Made it thru an other day...The new stuff is cool but I am still hoping for a tablet. MY MB is officially retiring and I am using a 5+ yrs old TabletPC while I wait for Steve to deliver us all... And while I wait, I am rediscovering why I wanted a Tablet so bad when I got this thing. It can write directly on the PowerPoint slides as I follow my prof explanations....
Cool! And I do not have to set a bunch of time aside every day to print and set up my pages for the next day.
Tablet! Tablet! Tablet!
How did you do with your lesson plan?
