Refurb iMacs

Check out the price drops on the refurb previous generation iMacs

Comparing the previous top of the line to the bumped 21 incher... They always make it difficult :apple:

Last week I would have jumped on that but now - the old one has more graphics memory, I don't have an opinion on the nVidia vs ATI - but to save that $150 you lose the LED back lighting, the wireless keyboard, magic mouse, and I guess that is it. It seems like the new $1499 21 incher is the better deal.

I submit that for almost all uses, this has been moot for years.

The LED on the LCD is nice, granted, but I'm meh wrt wireless keyboard & mouse. Just two more things to worry about keeping charged.

I just wanted to say that this thread was so entertaining for me to read during the last few weeks. There was the part of me desperately waiting for a new iMac model while the other part was losing hope. I can't wait for my new 27 inch mac to get here!

Cheers! :)

now the days at work are just borring....ohh well, hope there's one like this to come in the future

:D

I wholeheartedly agree. I often read Macrumors as much for the breadth of the contributions as for the threads that are of specific interest to me. I hope you get to enjoy your imac soon :)

Only the C2D machines have Nvidia chipsets. It makes sense since otherwise they have to put a dedicated graphics card in everything.

And who knows 12-18 months down the track there could be quad-cores in the high end mini and low end imacs. Now that would be sweet! :)

Sorry folks I just realised I should have combined two of my posts.
