Ok heres the thing:

I have my mac in one room connected to the net using a non wireless modem. I have my PS3 in another room about 10 - 15 meters away which I want to get connected so I can start online gaming. I've been told that I need a wireless router/modem in order to do that. Someone told me to get an 802.11n wireless router with a speed of 300. Now I was thinking as I have a mac would the best option be for me to get an Airport to avoid any complications? I want the fastest one available as I want to also stream files from my mac to my PS3 as well as have both connected to the net.

Anyone got any advice for me?

Linksys routers are great with the PS3 and mac.....I use one and haven't experienced any problems.

Linksys Wireless G or the newer versions should work fine.

You could drill a hole in your wall and unplug the internet from your Mac and bring it over to your PS3. 😀

^^^ For all you cheapskates like me out there...

Hehe yes that is another option but seeing as my walls are all about 15 inches thick concrete probly not.

ok so far, the advice hasn't been too helpful. I realize everyone wants to be a comedian at times but I need some solid advice I can use to solve my little problem.

No offense to those just wanting to be funny.

Ok mate, I have a really long cord that goes from my xbox 360 to my mac, thats around one floor, you might as well do it that way, plus it is more stable.

I did not realize that PS3 had wireless for internet connections. D-Link, Link Sys, I think most wireless routers will work with your Mac. I have a D-Link that works well.

Well jokes aside...

You can buy extensions for your ethernet cable at like RadioShack or BestBuy for a decent price (I remember looking them up but I forgot the prices 😛). Or you can get an airport that will benifit anyone else in the house with a laptop or something.

But if you had a long enough (and tough enough) drill...

For my 360, I ran a ethernet cable from my office, into the basement, over to the family room. Less expensive and faster than a wireless connection.
