damn i wish i was born in america so bad.

im planning on moving out there.
i feel my spirit is in america...
L.A. is best city in world.

sorry off topic.

holy smoke.

where have i been.

how about dual layer CD's?

No Dual-Layer CDs. CD's use InfraRed Lasers, which are two large to easily pass through a layer. DVD's use Red Lasers, and the red light can easily pass through the first layer. BluRay and HD-DVD use Blue Layer, which are smaller still can pass through more layers (something like 50).

When reading a disc, regardless of how many layers it has, it acts like a single volume. Just like how a hard drive is made up of several magnetic discs, to you, the user, it appears as a single device.

correct, I remember Pioneer had a prototype disc that had 16 layers nd 400GB storage overall.... its madness. i think it was on macworld, where i saw the article.

ive just checked.
they are DVD discs.
the first disck is something like 8 or 9gb
and the second disc is 4 or 5 gb.

so i guess the first disc is a dual layer one

yeah i think leopard and all bundles software is just on the 2 discs.

cheers

ps. the macbook set up = so smooth and easy. no issues or trouble what soever. like my hand was held all the way. and my wifi internet connection was a breeze to set up, it asked me straight away.......nothing is ever this easy in windows land. i keep expecting problems and crashes and bugs to surface, but nothing yet! i feel like booking some days off work to concentrate on learning my macbook.

can i back the discs up?

how would i back the discs up?

sorry, i wanna do it all right.

here are pics from the disks. both are dvds and the first has the osx installation, while the second has optional installations, such as xcode or dashcode.
here see for yourselves

I think you can back up the install DVD's through Disk Utility or through a separate program called Toast.
