You can't buy the cellular Apple Watch in countries outside the five in which cellular will be actually available. So you can't just buy it and not use LTE, it doesn't even appear in the store.

And with the Series 2 discontinued that means and Series 1 only available in aluminum that means that in most countries you can't buy a SS watch, period.

Well technically you can, just not through Apple.

Well maybe even through Apple if you visit a country where it's available, just walk into an Apple store and there you go.

Yah, I'm a bit miffed by HAVING to buy the LTE version, just to get the stainless steel (and I assume the sapphire glass as well?), as I really don't need LTE (or GPS for that matter)... Would also like to buy without a band, as, I have several from my past buys and as extra/different ones. Apple's just racking up our money...more efficient than a cliff for lemmings!

Not thrilled that the SS models only come with cellular. Which means a $50 price bump for those who won't use it.

Do you think any good deals on the SS2 will pop up in Denmark soon? If I know the usual market players I am not optimistic about any upcoming discounts...
[doublepost=1505295461][/doublepost]Anybody knows If it's possible to buy an Apple Watch Cellular in another country and just use it without activating the cellular at home? And will the chipset/cellular in the watch eventually work when cellular becomes available in my country when the watch is bought overseas?

Usually discounts on Apple stuff here is really rare...

I feel everyone’s pain. I too would have preferred a stainless steel model without the red dot on the crown. I have a series one stainless steel model that I most likely will sell on craigslist once I get my stainless steel cellular version.

Go for it, if you don’t want cellular there’s really no difference besides a faster processor and a barometer.
As well as Siri voice responses (supposedly due to the faster processor.) Barometer also means they could track steps/elevation in fitness activities.

I will say it is a bit annoying that they don't have a non-cellular SS or ceramic. I'm not really a fan of the red dot, seems like it will end up clashing with bands/clothing...plus I won't be using LTE if my carrier wants $10 a month for it. $10 a month for maybe one phone call a month without my iPhone wouldn't be worth it.

I’m planning on just getting the SS and not activating a plan on it. I need to make sure I’m able to do that first though, but I figure I shouldn’t have a problem.

This annoyed me as an American customer as well. I’m not paying extra for something I don’t want. I just won’t buy one.

The Apple Watch is far from a necessity so it doesn’t make sense to play purchasing obstacles in front of the consumer.

bad but can see why they are doing it. If you are paying out alot anyway might as well go premium with the cellular option

will be getting the SS cellular with EE

I just ordered a refurbished SS series 2. I couldn't justify paying for the SS series 3 when I would never use LTE.

Right. To me, the problem is the red dot. My current Series 2 stainless steel watch looks classier, so I'm sticking with that even though I would like to have cellular service.

The problem for us outside of the LTE launch areas is we can not go premium there is NO premium option. I wouldn't mind buying a Series 3 ss/sapphire model with LTE well knowing that I will not be able to use the LTE until the Danish telcos introduce an eSim option.

So the whole issue is that they have f****d the non LTE markets and we have to go back to the "old" parallel import days. I really hope that the Q earnings reflecting this watch launch will tell them just how much the have f****d up the watch launch.
