"Using our phone" is a very vague thing. Those distractions surely aren't as dangerous as interacting with people and reading a phone. However some activities on the phone are less distracting than the ones I mentioned, and are less distracting than unlocking a phone without a thumbprint reader.

This is a new issue for me as I bought an iPhone 11 last night, but probably will take it back due to its unwieldy size and difficulty to unlock in certain situations.
 
How many people do you see on the road HOLDING their phone... using the speaker thinking they are being "hands free" because they aren't holding their phone to their ear!!???? I mean they are literally holding with their HAND to their mouth... and think they are legal... IDIOTS!
