The phone was dropped from my trouser pocket level. Id got out my car and went to put it into my pocket and missed....

So distance was prob no more than about 3ft, landed face down.

Dropped mine from a countertop to a granite tile floor (about 4 feet). Haave a ifrogz diamond pattern case and no screen protector. Landed face down no scratches or dings whatsoever

I dropped mine naked in the club (about waist high) on the same day I received it, and there was no damage whatsoever.

I'd wrap mine in bubble wrap and duck tape before it ever saw an Otterbox.

I totally agree with you. I love the way the iphone looks and I would hate to cover it up. I'm just going to make a conscious effort to take better care of my phone.

The Speck Pixelskin is also very protective. Some people hate the looks but I like it in an odd way.

I haven't dropped mine yet and CAN wait until I do. I sometimes use one of the $.99 silicon cases from eBay, have my free bumper on the way from Apple, another $1.99 fake bumper from eBay because I wanted to try it out coming, and a $4ish green TPU case from eBay coming because it looked cool. Overall I'll have 6 cases totaled at like $10 total and I don't know if I'll even use any of them. I do look forward to trying the Apple bumper though.
