Hey Everyone - I’m loving all of the gestures with the iPhone X. What I am not loving however is my finger hitting the bottom lip of pretty much any case that I try. First world problems I know.

I thought that I would start this thread to try to gather a list of cases with no bottom bezel in case anyone feels the same way as I do.

Of course we have Apple’s first party leather and silicone cases. Mujjo Cases fall into this category as well. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I just bought and been using a Sena case, very nice quality and I like it much more than my apple leather case.

I bought the racer case, it’s got a padded back and seems like it will protect the phone better in a drop. It just seems more substantial and more solid than the apple case and it fits much tighter. The buttons are almost as good as apple.

Ah forgot about Sena - what do you like better than the Apple?

Interesting I hadn’t heard of that gear 4. Thanks.

The nice thing about the Gear4 is the use of the D30 armor for lining the case. If you are familiar with motorcycle gear, D30 is a common armor material for motorcycle jackets and pants, well known for its impact protection and shock absorption.

Nodus shell Case is another nice option, but still in pre-order.

Edit. It was the Casetify snap on matte black. But the shipping was over a month. No can do.

side note, are you by chance OJtheJEWSMAN from r/churning/

Nope! lol nice name though.
[doublepost=1512668303][/doublepost]Back on Apple leather. Surprise surprise. Not having that bottom edge is glorious though.

I have the Apple leather one now and really enjoy it. At first I thought I wouldn’t. It seemed sort of slick and slippery. But I think they must put some kind of polish or preservative on it. With use it has developed a much nicer hand feel and it’s not slick as it was when first unboxed.

I am thinking about buying a folio type case though. Either Apple or otherwise. Sometimes when I travel, particularly on my motorcycle , just carrying the phone and couple of cards and a little cash is all I want. Leave the wallet at home.

I will just alternate between them.

worth a shot :)

is the case worth the money? i tried it out at best buy - no bottom edge is great, but the leather felt cheap and slippery

The Apple case? When I first got it I was sure I was going to return it. It felt hard and slippery. But the leather is wearing in well and softening. The more I have lived with it the more I like it. I have had it just shy of 2 weeks now. I am going to hang on to it.

If the store is not too far away, you may want to try it out for a couple of weeks and decide.

I find that it depends on which case you get and how dry your hands are. The one I have now is much more grippy than the last leather I had a couple weeks ago. Also over time it absorbs the oils from your hands and softens up to feel like quality grippy leather. Nothing mind blowing as far as leather though. It’s thing. Feels great IMO and the buttons are the best I’ve felt.

....and the buttons are the best of felt.

The buttons are one of the nicer features of the Apple leather case. On many of the leather cases (Kulor included), they simply cut away the areas around the buttons in order to give access to the phones buttons.

With the Apple leather case, the volume buttons are laser cut, color coordinated buttons that cover the phones original ones, the mute button being an exception. Maybe because its a switch rather than a push button?

The Lopie cases, another for this list, seem to do the same as Apple.

Elago is another with the open ended bottom.

It is hard to tell from the photos, but if you watch the video, you can see the Twelve South Relaxed Leather case is also open at the bottom.

Nice thread. That bottom lip needs to be flush on more cases. Many brands are overlooking the need to have a clear area for gestures.

I'll most likely get the black Apple Silicone case, but this one was linked to in another thread, & whilst it offers less protection around each side, you gain a near naked phone experience...

Interesting design there. It’s almost like the spigen thin fit but with corner bumpers. Pretty cool.

Loving the way the 12 south relaxed leather looks! I think I’m gonna pick it up.

I use Chemical Guys Leather Protectant Serum on my leather items. But it is a product that I already owned for use on car interior and leather furniture. I am not suggesting that you order something like this just for a phone case, but if you have a similar product on hand or have a use for it beyond the phone case, such as the car, leather furniture, etc., it can keep the phone case protected as well :) A 4oz bottle goes a long way, even if using it for the car and furniture.
