The wall-to-wall coverage of this movie (which looks pretty mediocre) on this site makes me wonder if MacRumors is being paid to promote the film.

If not, then I guess the studio is running a really good PR campaign.

It is a major motion picture directly about the founder and long-time CEO of Apple. Did you think they'd just ignore it? Movies aren't made every day about the exact subject matter of this site. I don't get where the wonder comes in.

This is a dollar theater movie. And I think Steve would agree. After all, he only made a dollar a year.

Who knows, it may be better than we all think and some oscars come with. I'm not expecting a masterpiece, but this looks like a good flick to watch in the theatre.

I like how they use a song that is currently used in a commercial for a Microsoft product.

Not to mention has the dumbest lyrics in the history of dumb lyrics.

I think Kutcher is pushing too much air when quoting Steve. It sounds so off. Or maybe Jobs voice is just so engraved in my mind...

People rarely go crazy with cheering when Apple releases something like that. People don't know what to think till they have it in their hands and begin using it. Ah well, it makes for good viewing I suppose. :p

Especially since the iPod intro was a 'Town Hall' event just for press. It was/is only usually the 'home crowd' such as at MacWorld or WWDC that cheer like crazy.

And yes, I suppose since they are to be ending the movie on the iPod, the cheering will convey the feeling people really had when they first got their hands on the iPod and perhaps the way people felt towards all of Apple's later innovations.

Looking forward to seeing it also. I don't think many are expecting Oscars, but who knows? They do have the minor advantage of 'first-out-of-the-gate' though.

.....Kutcher? What the hell was anyone thinking. Major douche.

Been watching Two-and-a-half-men, have you? Specifically that "he's a douche" episode?

Then he should play the perfect part.

Ooooh, nasty.....not a big SJ fan, are we?

The trailer makes me cringe. I think its the wrong music/atmosphere for the kind of movie it should be about.

I think the music fits perfect. And although I'm not a huge Ashton Kutcher fan, I am really pumped to see this movie. I think the trailers look great. And Kutcher, like him or not, put his heart and soul into being the best SJ he could.

So how much is MacRumors getting paid to constantly advertise this horrid movie?

I was literally about to post the same exact thing. MacRumors is now Madvertisements. Not just for JOBS but all the different iOS apps that they post about constantly, just to say they've been updated with a new font or something.

El Jobso didn;t have a beard at the iPod introduction.

Like I said before, its not a simulation of technical details or aesthetics.

What we are looking for here is a good thesis and an insightful commentary on the essence of Steve Jobs, the human condition, and Steves' unique legendary/influential sales skills that transcend into pure art.

If they can achieve that its a good movie. If Ashton can do justice to his charisma, its a good movie.

All I see is Kelso trying to act serious.

Can't get past that.

I'm in sort of the same place. I was doing something on my phone when an ad for the movie came on the TV and all I heard was Kelso. Not sure I'll be able to get past it.

I think people who find Ashton too attractive or deuchey for the role should realize that Steve was essentially the same thing when he was younger.

If you came around to loving him in his later years, well he is like that BECAUSE he was attractive. Thats where he got his power from.

The early Steve Jobs was an arrogant playboy and it seems like people are forgetting that.

You cant have Joe Public Actor playing a guy who had the handsome looks of a model and immense hustler skills.

I guess it comes from a place deep down inside where one doesnt want to admit one of the greatest men who ever lived became that way BECAUSE he was arrogant, attractive, bold --All the type of things conservatives would frown upon.

This guy was a rebellious narcissist and if you think Ashton is narcissistic, well... that fits appropriately.

All the hate is getting pretty indicative of insecurity. Maybe you never even liked the real Steve Jobs in the first place? So why like this movie? Its not a chronicling of computers and their history. No.

Steve Jobs is a liberal hero, not a conservative one. His universe might have been in the nerd realm, but he was a rockstar in that realm, and it was for that very reason that he dominated the realm. Because he wasnt like the PC guy from the commercials.

I sense a lot of PC guys in here hating on this movie... The true Apple fans are looking forward to it.

I used to love That 70s Show as a kid as well.

Still hoping for the Aaron Sorkin version. He won't have created the first Steve Jobs movie, but he'll have created the best.

I think it looks neat. My only issue now is that it might just retread the same ground as Pirates of Silicon Valley.

Been there done that.

Ashton's performance had me sitting on the edge of my seat.
