Maybe because the first half of your comment was literally in the first sentence of the article. MR was never claiming it as a new tip, or new shortcut. It's more of a "hey, in case you forgot, here's a cool shortcut" kind of thing. Plus the crack at Tim doesn't really serve any purpose, and isn't related to the article. But I'm just guessing.
I thought everybody knew about this tip, anyways too bad... Thanks for the reply...

wöt is this supposed to mean 💀
Even though there's a double negative here, it's actually grammatically correct. It puts more emphasis on how useful it is, or that it's so useful it couldn't be ignored. It's a common phrase, basically a fancier way of saying something like "we just had to highlight it here because it's so useful."

How about Apple puts settings for an app inside the app itself? But yeah, I know revolutionary, cutting-edge ideas like that can be hard to implement.

See my post. It already has a screenshot of the tweak that works with Camera app.
Which “open” do I select?. Open URL?

Doesn’t work. I used the Open URL command.
I posted screenshot if you have any suggestions, because it unfortunately isn’t working.

Okay so “camera” has to be “CAMERA”.

Weird. But I’m not programmer.

Thanks

Would not be necessary if Apple would just require devs to add an open app settings to the long press menu.

I never understood why this feature is absent.
Or they could just make it the default for all apps. It would be an extremely useful shortcut. No pun intended.

Great shortcut, but doesn't work with Camera app.

Here's a tweak to make it work with Camera app:

I'm still working on a tweak to make it work with Home app. Will update this post later.
Added Home to it but it’s not functional. Just dumps you into Settings > Apps

I believe prefs:root=HOMEKIT is either broken or, because Home’s settings are only in the Home app (this really is one weird app), it doesn’t actually have a deep link.

All known settings URL links (GitHub)

The idea of having app preferences only accessible from a central preference app was one of the things that put me off of iphones way back in the start. Maybe apple could fix this in a future release ...
