I don't see what functionality this can bring compared to the web version.
At least there I have a few less trackers.

Got it install here in the UK. So much better to have it on my phone and in my pocket to use at any time.

Thank you!!!

Whisper is amazinlgy good. It gets all kinds of punctuations right. I talked in English and Portuguese, perfect. Funny thing is that when I tried spanish, it translate the phrase to portuguese.

I tried to mimick speaking in chinese or japanese and it actually worked. Chatgpt said my phrases made no sense tho’ hahaha

I’m kind of amazed how fast whisper is. Would it be crazy to think Apple installed Whisper in the OS itself? My devide is 5 years old.

I always laugh about how the terminator TV series 10 years or so ago the first computers that got AI enough to lead to our doom started at 10 nanometer
You mean the Sarah Connor Chronicles? Found that show just 2 seasons quite well written and done well - acting was all around pretty good.

The show was a LOT better than T2, T3 and T5 movies (the first girl heroin) - all of those were JUNK! 🤢🤮. The original movie and the last one with Sarah’s return was really the best in the franchise.

Can it be used in Shortcuts?
I’m searching for this myself. Until recently, I had a shortcut that used my ChaptGPT key and I’d activated it using the “Hey Siri Pro” prompt and worked very well.

Have you tried it? I tried it briefly and it scared me. Helpful? Yes. I talked to it as if I had never been on a date before and I was asking a buddy what to do on a first date. The info it gave me was crazy on point.

It talked to me like a friend and then proceeded to give me a list of 4-5 things it would recommend me doing.
This official app is still VERY limiting! I prefer Bings’ implementation inside of Microsoft Edge browser on macOS or windows 11 yet even better love how both Edge mobile and Bing mobile are separate yet when selecting link sources from its results open tabs into Edge even though my default browser on iOS is Safari. I actually prefer this as I keep Bing-ChatGPT results isolated from my own opened bookmarks in tabs and categories in Safari (most of which is more personal and work related) completely separated and isolated! Something I’ll be wary of in iOS 17 when side loading becomes a real thing or if I venture to the dark side (android).
I haven’t tried the app, only the web version. And Bing
The app is exactly the same as on web. Spartan and single UI. Bing is much more useful for isolating or more well rounded I. It’s results. I prefer it to the official AI ChatGPT site or the official app.

That was one of our favorite tv shows of all time, we are still very very depressed over its abrupt cancellation, everything was done so well. Fox cancelled it and replaced it with some show that proved we are headed towards an idiocracy.

What’s the benefit of using the app?

I haven’t tried the app, only the web version. And Bing

Ahhh, gotcha. Doing a search is one thing (at least I would think). 😳 But asking AI in a chat like I’m texting a friend was very weird.

I just came across something that both of you peaked my mind on that I hadn't fully cognitively noticed. It was there right in front of me but I just didn't comprehend the differences - just seen it as strange.

Bing AI vs. ChatGPT: Conversational Skills:

The thing about Bing AI’s conversational skills is that it provides three different conversation modes: Creative, Balanced, and Precise. For this comparison, I’ll be using the Creative mode, as it’s the more conversational mode.

When it comes to conversational skills, I’ll have to give another victory to ChatGPT. Sometimes, there comes a point in the conversation where ChatGPT will cut off the conversation and ask if there’s something else that you want to look up. Bing AI, on the other hand, won’t do that. It will ask additional questions and keep the conversation going.

However, Bing’s approach is much more plastic. When chatting with ChatGPT, the responses feel more natural. It will progress the conversation in a manner that you’d expect from a human.

Bing, on the other hand, will toss questions out just for the sake of continuing the conversation. Note how I said “Continuing” and not “Progressing”. Bing AI would ask questions that pertain to the information in the response but not the conversation as a whole.

I started a conversation about hanging out with my friend Jessica which quickly turned into talking about Super Saiyan Goku Funko Pops. It swiftly forgot all about Jessica.

This was more obvious which I'm sure both of you may be aware of:
Bing AI vs. ChatGPT: Information

ChatGPT pulled some victories, but providing information is where Bing AI has its parent chatbot stumped. One of ChatGPT’s biggest flaws is its limited knowledge of the world. At the time of writing this article, ChatGPT’s knowledge stops at 2021. So, it’s two years behind the times, and that can really limit its capabilities. It has a ton of information, don’t get me wrong, but it’s still a limitation.

Bing AI, on the other hand, has the Bing search engine. It’s connected to the Internet, so it can provide you with up-to-date information.

That’s great for Microsoft’s chatbot, but there’s an area that ChatGPT has it beat, and that’s presentation. When you request information from ChatGPT, you’re given separate paragraphs, and you typically get bullet points as well. This helps the reader when reading it. As for Bing AI, everything is presented in one solid block of text.

Also, ChatGPT’s responses are typically more fleshed out. BingAI’s responses are more concise, but not by much. They’re still more fleshed out than Google Bard’s answers for the most part. ChatGPT just gives you more information for each response. This was even while using the Creative conversation mode with Bing AI.
From my personal experience on both mobile (Microsoft's Bing on iOS) and on Microsoft Edge + Bing within, I don't agree with the last two paragraphs regarding Bing ... there are clear paragraphs, not a block of text.

FYI ... ChatGPT will be using Microsoft's Bing API (already to ChatGPT Premium users) soon enough:

Now ... next month Microsoft's CoPilot will be ground breaking.

NOTE ... if you haven't guessed it to surmised ... Bing Chatbot and CoPilot will be the foundation to Microsoft's 3rd try to the tablet and smartphone race! You've heard it here first and if Apple continues to rest on its laurels its something Microsoft could be a threat in (unless they use that damn Picasso-FischerPrice UI of Windows Mobile 7/8 that matched the face of their original lead of said platform. Eeeeek!).

Microsoft in such a VERY short time has already leap frogged Google in the AI space. Google has been complacent and resting.

I too missed that show - had to purchase it almost a decade later via Apple TV Show's to watch the second season.

considering what we're experiencing now with ChatGPT and real world use of generative API's and soon intigration into Microsoft Office apps and robotics getting much more advanced, some of the episodes in season 2 become really interesting (sound bites).

Cyberdyne Systems (stands for Cyber Dynamics Systems Corporation)
founded on June 24, 2004, by Yoshiyuki Sankai - yet I swear I searched the internet LONG before 2004 and found this company existing before yet unfortunately I cannot now. (difference of spellings, maybe?)

see Boston Dynamics, named after an official business IN Robotics from another TV Show "Fringe" almost following Cyberdyne Systems in Terminator also a real company, we've seen what their robotics can do and if you've seen Netflix's Outside The Wire movie (
) you'll LOVE the implications of its real-world use cases. Don't be fooled, Boston Dynamics has had a contract with USA military's DARPA division for over a decade.

Bing-ChatGPT
Q: Does DARPA have contracts with Boston Dynamics?

Yes, Boston Dynamics has contracts with the US military. In April 2012, DARPA chose Boston Dynamics to be the sole supplier of the DRC's robotic systems. In exchange, the robotics company received $10.8 million in capital. Boston Dynamics was to supply humanoid robots called "Atlas" ¹.

how we may not be seeing a company or military robotics with 3 dots in a triangle, but Boston Dynamics could just be our real world's CyberDyne Systems with DARPA the contractor ;)

(another favourite show of mine: V - 1984 childhood, but again only 2 seasons then and again in 2001 but for another topic and discussion).

Well, they do collect quite a bit of data on you with their app

- Contact Info
- Identifiers
- Diagnostics
- User Content
- Usage Data
IP too. The main advantage for me with the web version is I use private relay as VPN. Thus, ChatGPT do not know who I am since I also use an anonymous email.

Unfortunately, I believe I have logged on with Windows without VPN so I guess I’m exposed anyway😅
