    Hi All,

I wonder if someone else was stuck in the same situation as I am here.
I want to open up my 2012 rMBP for a clean up as it was not done since Apple last had it looked at and replaced my network card in 2013. There's loads of dust I can see behind the vents on the side and back.

Now... Apple and their magic screws - is my problem. I bought this kit - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Deyard-SG-...30&sr=8-7&keywords=macbook+retina+screwdriver

It includes the "5 point star pentalobe 1.2mm for bottom cover or case screws of MacBook Air (2010-2012) and Retina MacBook Pro 2012 " - and it fits perfectly to the 8 screws surrounding the case. However is too small for the top two screws around the lid. Now... all places seem to only sell the one screwdriver for this laptop and it's the one I already have. However the screws are not all the same.

Which screwdriver type / do I need for those two screws? I have two screwdriver kits including this new one and I am stuck with being unable to get them two darn screws...

    Best Regards

    Aleks

All the screws on the bottom of my 2012 have the same head. The middle two near the hinge are shorter than the others.

If those two screws really are different then they probably got replaced with a different type when you had the machine serviced. Not that that makes much sense to me...

Yeh this is really strange... Maybe you're right about that. Gotta love Apple...
