Order now!

Firefox on Mac. no problems. I only ordered accessories.
Dock looks to be in very low quantities, longest ship time anyway.

So my order is all messed up now because there is a 68.96 dollar pre auth on there that was not there before I placed my order through apple, now my card won't go through because I don't have the money technically because for what ever reason apple put a 68.96 hold on my card?? Know 100% that I don't have anything else bought recently on this card either.. And I can't even find out my account status because it is so slow loading..

It's likely that it will get processed and shipped today. From China. During their business hours. But then again, it's the end of their day. Maybe they will process your order tomorrow.

But at least it will be their tomorrow, not yours.

Some companies actually have carrier managed warehouses....UPS or Fedex may manage the whole facility (and own it) as transport is their business. In launches like this, I'm sure it means they're packing to ship even during off hours and on weekends.

Wow, many are ordering the 3G version. I would have though different this time since AT&T allows personal hotspot 4GB for $45. I let go of my unlimited plan for the ipad. Saved money on the 3G chip and the duplicate monthly I would pay ATT every month.

ya don't need a 3g pad if your iphone is jailbroken and are running MyWi.

Sweet!

I just couldn't justify the 3G. Too much for the hardware, too much for the monthly fees. I'll just jailbreak my iPhone and tether the iPad to it on the relatively rare occasions I take my iPad out to WiFi-free areas.

iPad for Me, MacBook Air for Wife

I ordered a black 64GB 3G for myself and asked the wife if she wanted one in white and her response was "What I am going to do with an iPad? There's no Flash so I can't play Tetris & Friends! Just get me a MacBook Air". Jeez...

I think it took a few hours to get a confirmation for iPhone 4, I wouldn't worry.
Just wanted to double check. This is my first time ordering online, usually I go to the store. I did get a promo e-mail saying it's "here". So I guess I'll just wait it out.

Maybe people don't want to loose there grandfathered unlimited plan ... and the iPhone4 SIM fits in the iPad too

Confirmation email arrived

Looks like my wife's iPad will be here earliest next Friday 3/18 or latest the following Friday 3/25. iPad dock won't deliver until April 7. Bummer :(

I'm aware of that, but it's purely speculative to assume that Apple is doing that for the iPad 2 launch.

Without outside confirmation, it is safest to assume that it is business as usual.

Really wondering if the tsunami will affect the shipping. Not that it's more important or anything, but a realistic issue now ...

If you saw any of the footage out of Japan, that was a really major quake and tsunami. I really hope loss of life was minimal, but I'm not sure how much warning people got. I saw a lot of video of the waves rolling across roads carrying houses and even ships as it surged across the landscape.

In Hilo, Hawaii (a port city) the Tsunami alarms have been going on and off for the last couple of hours. We had a minor rumble (aftershock?) around 10:30pm HST. I'm not sure if China was effected, as the quake was on the eastern side of Japan.

I did manage to get my order in for a White iPad / blue cover. Estimated delivery is March 18-25.

Just being optimistic....I have to be as I'm flying halfway across the country on 3/20......I'm really hoping to have my iPad 2!!!!!!

not available overseas yet. only US market for now. can you have someone back home order it for you?

That doesn't seem to make any sense though because I am on vacation in Paris right now and had no problem ordering mine. As long as you have a US based address attached to your account you shouldn't have a problem. You also need to have it mailed to that US address, or it will not go through

Does business as usual ordering with Apple mean all orders for hardware ship from China? If Best Buy and Walmart have them why wouldn't they have some in warehouses ready to roll out to first buyers?

hey

HELL NO .. I WON'T WAIT 3-5 DAYS.. i think if they make a free next day shipping.. lots and lots of profit will be made..is only 15 dollars for next day i don't see why not..

getting one from the store :)

I totally agree.. but didn't apple say fast free shipping... 5 days is NOT fast..

I am hoping that our Ipads are sitting in a distribution facility in the US and just need to released for shipping!.. I hope.. (but I also still believe in Santa)

No need for 3G when you can save the $130 and just use your phones internet:D....why pay for 2 connections?
I was always curious about that. Are there any potential security issues with MyWi? I use my phone for work (I'm a freelancer), and before I go jailbreaking and installing MyWi I want to make sure it's secure.
