Anyone has theirs yet?
Because i was wondering about the noise under full load.

I currently have a 2011 air and there are only 2 things i don't like about it.
The screen and the noise under full load. The slides showed 2 fans for a relatively frugal dual core ivy bridge cpu. I'm hoping it's quite silent under load.

I did something similar: 13" retina, edu discount, 256 GB SSD. I think it is overpriced for what I get, but I don't want a 15" screen (about $150 more) and I want the retina screen.

I hope I will like it. My main point of irritation is actually that I couldn't get it with 16 GB RAM.

Edit: I am also upgrading from an old computer: a 2006 MacBook C2D 2.0 GHz, 3 GB, 160 GB SSD. It works fine but I want a new one with more processor power and better screen. Too bad that the upgradeability is so much worse for the retina than for this old machine.

Yeah, I was planning/hoping for 16gb as well. Kind of strange that my new MBP will have the same amount of ram, albeit faster, as my 2007 mbp.

Have you done all the system updates on your air? I had the same issue and then the fan noise problem completely disappeared after an update.

Nah it's fine under any kind of light or moderate usage, it just sucks when i play SC2 then the fans are just too loud. So kinda hoping the dual fan system in this machine will help with this "problem". Will be buying a haswell one in 9 months so just curious. :)

Test drive!

Yep I ordered my maxed out 13" rmacbook toy to test drive wooo hooo. Gonna return it for my cash back. I'm saving up for a Haswell 17" MBP. Wooot woot !!!
