I really would rather buy direct from Apple instead of best buy. But given the online store is saying 4 - 6 weeks and the three Apple stores in my area have no idea when they will get some (the reps are saying 1 - 2 months!), I caved and ordered from best buy tonight. Hopefully it will be here by Wednesday.

Thanks for this thread. Bought the 10% off coupon for $5 on eBay. That gave me $160 off the Space Gray 8/512. Paid for $30 express and it should be here on Wednesday. I saved $125 vs ordering from Apple, and will have it in 2 days rather than 4-6 weeks. Don't quite understand how Apple supplied BB with so many of these but, oh well!

On bestbuy site it says that the MacBook is on backordered. How didyou get it to ship so quickly???

As of last night the gold was back ordered but the rest were in stock. I just checked and right now the silver 256 & 512 and grey 256 are still in stock.
You can get the coupon on eBay for about $5. Search Best Buy Movers Coupon. I have an extra I'll sell for $5 (what I paid) if interested. You just enter the code at checkout and get 10% off your order. I believe it only works for us addresses.

I ordered my Space Gray 512 from Apple, and it was delivered last Thursday.
I went on to BestBuy to order for my wife and two friends; I think we got the last Space Gray 512, as when I tried to place the order for the next one, it was "Backordered".
As far as I can tell, only the Silver 512 is available at the moment.

I was in the 1-2 week backorder on the Gold 1.1GHz but it actually shipped in a day or two. I'm not sure their online availability can be trusted 100%. I'd place the order and see if you get a ship notification within a couple of days.

I bought a Movers Coupon from eBay that could be used online for $2.75. Delivered instantly and worked flawlessly. Saved me $130.
Got it today at 1:00 pm! Sent the last few hours restoring my TimeMachine backup and updating Office and such and I'm typing this response on it. So far I am really liking it. Honestly, the speed difference is not that noticeable to me (coming from a late 2014 rMBP 13") and the screen is just beautiful. The keyboard is different, certainly, but I am typing just fine. So far, so good! And BestBuy and UPS were good. Here's hoping everyone else gets their new rMB's soon!

I was able to combine the movers coupon (10% off) and the $50 student discount coupon to purchase the base model space gray for $1221 out the door including taxes! I did pay extra for the expedited shipping and it will be here Thursday.
You can only combine coupons by going into the store, online wouldn't allow me to.
