all stores near me (including apple store) said they wouldnt have shipments for three weeks so i figured id just order from apple (tired of waiting for white iphone) and me be the first to touch it

Sorry Mr. Disgruntled, that's how it happened. I drove an hour to the store, waited outside a bit before they opened, then walked in and asked if they had any. YEP? YEP.
Call them and tell them you want to switch to the 32GB waitlist. What's the problem?

Even worse here. All the local stores are sold out, so 4/5 week wait.
I dont want the list to be longer if its a separate, or to move me farther back if its the same one.
Maybe I'll stick to 16GB and just unload on to my mac more often, put an extra $100 in my pocket.
I did the same thing, waited for the white phone and just ended up getting the black one since the "later in the year" announcement came out. Closest place to get an iphone for me in a store is 2 hours so I just ordered it online on the 23rd with the same 13th and 18th time frame for delivery.
Since they don't charge you till they ship it I'm just going to keep checking the apple store randomly and maybe I'll end up getting it in store if I'm lucky and just cancel the online order.

Exactly the same as me. Hoping it arrives by the 13th because I'm going on vacation on the 14th.
There aren't any walk-ins here in MN. AT&T is shipping 7-14...14 for the 16gb but if you want a 32gb they are shipping around 7 days.
Well, I canceled my online order today. I went to the local Apple Store (Deer Park, IL) to see if they had the new iMacs and they happened to have a bunch of 16gb iPhone 4's in stock. Needless to say I picked one up.

People that ordered on 7/23 through att.com are getting shipping info yesterday and today. I ordered mine on 7/26 so I hope to get it early next week

Apple's website is slow then. I ordered mine from AT&T on the 23rd and it should ship within 2 days, if that.
