Ordering iPad 2 from J&R.com

Just got the website to load up and recognize my phone order.

Shipping address looks mangled. They have the street address twice, the company name once and no suite #.

Looks like:

STREET ADDRESS (underlined)
COMPANY NAME
STREET ADDRESS (again, with no suite #)
MY NAME
CITY, STATE ZIP
PHONE

Anyone else's shipping look similar or do I need to call them back and ask to fix the shipping information? The confirmation email looked perfect though, which is strange...

I emailed them to confirm, and they confirmed the suite was properly entered. Don't know why it's not on the status page.
 
Online order status is finally up (roughly 2hr+ later)

Realized I never gave them my apartment number! LOL whoops. Time to call them back.
 
Just called in my J&R order for the wifi black 32 gb model. The guy told me I'm 140th in line and their supply shipment is expected in the warehouse on 3/30. As with many others here I have multiple iPad orders with different companies, with plans to cancel the orders that don't ship first.
 
just cancelled my 32GB AT&T black since my preorder at best buy came in today. you're welcome people. :)
 
Just ordered 32 gb 3g (AT&T) black.

131 (i think that was the #) expected, 84 claimed.

Anticipating shipment by the 30th.
 
i'd rather wait and go to apple store.. i dont want to be ended up like a horror story thread created after 30th of march...

I don't think anyone on here is going to suggest having only one iron in the fire. This is a good hedge. I have an Apple.com order, too. That's my worst case scenario. Best case is that I happen upon one before JR ships and I cancel the 2 mail orders.
 
Currently have a 32GB black wi-fi from the Apple Store, but placed an online order through JR for a 64GB black wi-fi. He said that I was about #100 and they had an order of 300 or so coming in the first or second week of April. Fingers crossed. Will probably sell my 32GB iPad2 for what I paid on Craigslist since it's already open and played with....
 
I'm 310ish for Black WiFi 16gb. Supposedly, they expect 460 of these on 3/30.

So, for the 16GB wifi black (the one I ordered, so, I'm most interested):

Of potentially 460 coming in on 3/30,

Report of being #300 on 3/19 at ~6:56pm, #318 on 3/19 at ~7:20pm. And today, ~#310 on 3/21 at ~4:09pm.

Assuming time of post is roughly equal to time of ordering, last one seems out of order. And did they not take any orders on Sunday?

I sent an email to ask my approximate number in line (ordered 3/21 at ~12:30pm). If I get an answer of like #314, something's up.

This is getting sketchier and sketchier every time people call in.

Just called in and ordered Black 16GB - quoted "around the end of this month or first week in April" - they don't charge your CC until it ships. I didn't get specific number in the queue, simply "there should be enough"...

Also have an order with Apple.com set to ship April 19, hoping this one beats that!

I also ordered on the 19th not today...plus I think you've included me twice :)
So there's nothing amiss with this order. Let's hope they deliver by 1st week of April.
 
I spoke to a rep last week that said they were expecting a "large shipment" of White 32GB WiFi's in on Thursday this week. So take that for what it's worth.

I assume that we are talking about ATM cards here. If you don't have enough funds in your account to cover the authorization then yes, it will get declined. Also, it will put a hold on the authorized funds and you will not be able to use that money. Depending on your bank, those funds can be held from 3-30 days.

So for all intents and purposes, an authorization on an ATM card is the same as a charge with the exception that the funds will be released back to you if the merchant doesn't complete the transaction before the authorization hold is released.

Well, you are wrong at least in the case of Bank of America. I forgot I had automatic credit card payment setup and yesterday I actually had less money in my account than the authorized payment of $499 for the iPad. Nothing happened. I added more funds to my account todayand everything seems fine.
 
Cancelled my order today as I was able to get one in store at best buy. Hope everyone gets theirs soon.;)
 
I have 3 orders and nothing like promising as of now for my 64g+wifi.

1. Apple Store : Estimated delivery date Apr 21 (ordered Mar 14)
2. J&R : Estimated Delivery date not known (ordered on Mar 23)
3. Macconnection : Estimated Delivery date not known (ordered on Mar 23)

I hope something turns up by Apr 12th or 13th as i am leaving US for 3 months..

ordered over the phone w/J&R this morning

I have these orders open now for a black 32 gig Wi-Fi only iPad 2. I didn't receive an ETA from J and R but he was guessing 1-2 weeks before it ships. He said they've been shipping a lot out.

Apple Store online: ordered 3/17/11 (4-5 week estimate back then), est. ship: 4/21, est. delivers: 4/26
J and R: ordered morning of 3/26 at ~8:10 am Eastern time. Received confirmation email within 20 minutes.

I'll probably cancel the Apple order since I save on sales tax if I go w/J and R. I'm not in a huge hurry.
