The Retina MBP has an HDMI and two miniDP, how would those fare when connected to lets say two thunderbolt displays and a 1080p screen and also running de built in display. Those are a LOT of pixels.

All of this on only the iGPU.

I think the dGPU is needed if you are thinking on running external displays.

nope, i can confirm that i can run two 1920x1080p displays as well as the integrated 2880x1800 all at the same time from my base 15" igpu only

i don't have 3 external displays so i can't test that

I just ran Heaven in a window whilst monitoring a kill-a-watt whilst using the iris 5200 and the 750M exclusively.
The performance of the 750M is slightly higher whilst drawing around 10% less power from the wall. 80w under Iris power compared to 72w under 750m.

This.

While running under full load the 750M uses less power Iris Pro. There goes many people's theory of the Integrated graphics card being much more efficient.

Nice to know this! And props to the Iris Pro. I think 3 displays wasn't "officially" supported by apple so that would just be icing on the cake.

Now go buy two thunderbolt displays to test the higher res. Report back ASAP

"Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on up to two external displays, both at millions of colors" so officially: 2880x1800 + 2560x1600 + 2560x1600 (unless they mean 2880x1800 or two 2560x1600, but i dont think so because they used 'and' not 'or')
