organising my photos

Is it possible to organise the more than a thousand photos i have in Photos? Place them in folders of my choice, or some other kind of sorting?

Folders in Photos are used to group albums together. If you type "folder" in Photos Help, you'll see an explanation of how it works.

I don't understand your question. Did you read the Photos help page about folders? When you create a new folder, it appears under My Albums as Untitled Folder. You can rename it and drag albums into it.

Yes. If you drag a photo from your library into a folder, it will create a new album using that photo.

The library is just a bucket of all the photos a user has.
Photos are placed in the Albums as links.

Exactly the photos stay in the central library and you can place them in as many different albums as you want.

It's like using iTunes and creating a playlist of songs, they're not duplicated.
