You’ve never even had any of the software issues with Siri? Not one fart? I’m jealous.
Not sure what software issues you're referring to, but I really don't use Siri all that much other than asking for the lights to be turned off or on, or asking for some specific music to be played. Works fine for both of those things, for me.

I'm aware of all of the criticisms of Siri. To me those are separate from the HomePod itself, which I purchased because of the great sound. And they are great.

“hold, on”… “one moment”… “still working on that” when asking to turn on a light

Giving the weather for a location on the other side of the country.

One HomePod not producing sound in a stereo pair

“I can’t find this in your Apple Music Library” when asking to play a song that’s def in my library lol.

That’s to name only a few.

But yeah, that’s what I meant mostly by software issues. Works fine on the iPhone and iPad so I’d conclude it’s the Siri software on the HomePod in particular. There was one HomePod update that just flat out bricked HomePods to non existence (13.x I think?) If it’s not happening to you, I guess there’s still hope.
