I have 10.5.1 on both my 12' PB and my 24' AliMac. Wireless on the former works fine, but now the wireless display on the upper right on the iMac shows only one wireless network at a time, even though I live in an apartment building, and there are usually about 10 visible. I can still connect to invisible networks, provided I know the name and password, so this glitch is annoying at worst.

10.5 was great with wireless connections on my White MacBook 2.16Ghz. However, I've noticed after 10.5.1 my wireless is kicking me off about every 30-60 minutes. My wireless was just great before 10.5.1. Has anyone reported this to Apple?

I have a brand new BlackBook with Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.1 and so far so good. Hasn't dropped at all, and before when I had a core duo BlackBook with Tiger 10.4.10, the wireless was pretty stable, but once in awhile would get weak signals. I am impressed.

From what I understand, WPA Personal is a better choice. WEP can be hacked.

Cheers

True, and I was fiddling around with my AEBS and tried out n 2.4Ghz only and found it unreliable. Maybe the best thing, if one is experiencing issues, change to mixed mode 2.4Ghz.

Macbook Wifi Problems!!!

I cant believe the number of problems i have been having with my Macbook. I am sick of it. I just want to throw it in the garbage can and get a PC!!
I cant keep a signal for more that 30 seconds!! Seriously!! I went to the Genius bar (that word does not apply to those people - heck, i know more than they do!) and they kept telling me all is fine!
Wrong!!!
My iPhone works fine, but I cant keep a signal with my laptop. I have to constantly trigger the wifi port through my airport signal to keep the wifi signal on long enough to send or receive a single email, or even to hit "send" on this posting!!
I am fed up, i tell you. I need a PC.
