In short, they are:

A) Fixing Safari bugs
B) Inserting TotalFinder
C) Inserting AppTamer
D) Sort of fixing Spaces

Did I miss anything?

Yes, you are basing this on rumours. There may be some nice surprises at WWDC.

Dual monitor management is the best on OSX of the 3 major OS's. :)

The ability to use the secondary monitor during a fullscreen app on the primary would be a nice feature though, although I hardly see that a whole new version is necessary for such a simple change. Just update 10.5-present with such a feature?

I can dream

many of you

many of you with speedy interwebs may find safari slow but for some reason I find it just fine with my 2.5Mbps connection. I guess its only as fast as your connection.

cellular support?

So when is OS X going to get cellular support, such as that available in iOS on the iPad?

I've held off buying my next MacBook Pro in the hope that it will have it. I want full-time internet connectivity like the iPad, and I need it on an OS X machine.

But will cmd+x finally come to us pro users?

Pro users :) already know that you can do Cmd-C on the source and then Option-Cmd-V in the destination. No need for Cmd-X.

This is a hardware feature, not an OS feature. I'd like to have it as well since I can't stand iPads.

Or even better:

Do I read this correctly? Tagging finally becoming a first-class citizen on OS X? This would most certainly mean revamps to the file system! I don't care much for tabbed Finder, but it could be interesting if done right. Oh, and the application-backgrounding APIs sound extremely interesting!

Tags - it's about time! This seems such a basic way to enhance file/folder organisation (and necessary), why in the underworld has it taken so long? This is very good indeed.

Man, I hope they do Finder tags right! With improved metadata and search, the Finder could potentially replace so many third-party file management apps. Why Apple has virtually ignored this potential for so long is a bit of a mystery.

Apple "stopped" development/supporting it quite a while ago.
Reason unknown AFAIK but I think the reason might be the following, I installed ZFS several years ago, uninstalled it shortly after after finding out that if you eject an external the OS crashes, if that is still the case I don't want ZFS, simple as that.

I'm sure that is not case if implemented correctly. Other operating systems use ZFS and I don't believe they would ship an OS that crashes once an external is ejected.

Are you referring to the Launchpad that pops up when you download something from the App Store? You can stop that from happening if I recall. Just drag the Launchpad icon out of the dock.

Thanks, it doesn't bother me that much but I think it would confuse people new to the OS.

Launchpad would probably be what your talking about… and why is it bad that launchpad shows up after an app is installed?

It's weird and confusing to people new to the OS

This seems to be a dot release, i.e. minor update as opposed to a new, named OS (whatever cat they will use this time). I'm a little dissapointed.

You have absolutely nothing to base that off of. Especially considering that OSX has migrated to a yearly release schedule with a new name. Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion.

This will be no different.

What is wrong with getting a cellular USB stick so those that don't need that function wouldn't have to pay to have it integrated

I agree. I highly doubt it would be that hard to make it possible, but who am I to say? This feature alone makes me excited for 10.9!

you can't do that right now? Maximize, full screen that is, a window on the main monitor and use the other with the menu bar?

While ZFS would be great, it will probably never happen due to licensing issues. Although Apple should be able to create their own that has similar advantages, hopefully we'll finally see some real improvements to HFS in 10.9.

It's not.

Why couldn't they use FreeBSD's version? I'm to understand it used an earlier licence version to bypass the restrictions making it unfeasible use outside of Oracle.

ZFS equivalent and tagging would be monumental!

i hope they fix the expose gestures. the 4-fingers-up-to-reveal-desktop and 4-fingers-down-to-show-all-windows worked so much better. Right now it's so much more of a hassle to move files from a window to the desktop with the "pinch out" gesture
I use BetterTouchTool for exactly this reason. It allows me to customize my gestures for my trackpad -- and in my case, I did indeed "bring back" the four-finger swipe up to show the desktop! Not to mention the much-easier four-finger swipe sideways to show all running apps.
