A quick update.
Inside User Library - > Application Support there was an
alias folder called "Logic" that was pointing to the "Audio Music Apps" folder. Im sure this alias was created by Logic quite a while back when first installing Logic X on a system that had Logic 9 already installed. Im betting the majority of users will not have this alias there.
I removed this alias, opened Logic X and it works. It creates a new "Logic" folder in place of the alias and puts a file in there- "Alchemy_Preset_ratings_And_Tags.db"
So...that Alias folder was stopping the creation of this file and thus crashing the app.
Sorted.
