OS X El Capitan: Working & Not Working Apps

The issue is resolved for me as of the latest El Capitan beta (15A262e).

A quick update.

Inside User Library - > Application Support there was an alias folder called "Logic" that was pointing to the "Audio Music Apps" folder. Im sure this alias was created by Logic quite a while back when first installing Logic X on a system that had Logic 9 already installed. Im betting the majority of users will not have this alias there.

I removed this alias, opened Logic X and it works. It creates a new "Logic" folder in place of the alias and puts a file in there- "Alchemy_Preset_ratings_And_Tags.db"

So...that Alias folder was stopping the creation of this file and thus crashing the app.

Finally took the plunge and installed El Capitan Beta 2 on primary Mac with flashed AMD 7950s. Everything works, which is good. I have a Monoprice-Huion GT-190S pen tablet monitor and the drivers still work. Some flashing redraw issues with Lightroom. Some cosmetic video playback issues on the NYTimes on right edge of the video window. Adobe Flash issue (?).

Edit: To fix my lag issue in Manga Studio Clip Studio, I had to go Clip Studio Paint/Manga Studio preferences and set the Tablet settings to "5". Seems to have addressed the issue with lag. A big "DOH!" Not sure if user error or what.

Edit: Seems like new Beta today addressed the cosmetic playback issue on NYTimes site.

Apps that work for me: Final Cut Pro 10.2.1, Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC 2015, EyeTV 3.6.8, Anime Studio Pro 11.

Thought this problem with Finale 2014 was resolved with today's PB release... with the last version, as soon as I double-clicked on the score with the expression tool, the app would immediately quit. With today's PB, double-clicking brings up the palette of expression options as normal, but then selecting one of those options (mf, fff, pp, etc.) crashes the app.
 
Found out that Command and Conquer: General and the Zero Hours from the AppStore is not working on El Capitan.
 
Any word on Quickbooks 2015 with PB6? And does El Cap address any of the display lag issues on the early 2015 rMBPs? If so, I will take the plunge today.

Also, does anyone else with the early 15 rMBP (13") keep having BT issues? My BT MM keeps losing connection... and I'm about to lose my mind.

No problem. I'm pretty sure that no difference in general work/don't work between 2014/2015. Also, in latest beta all Adobe apps that I have (AE, Premiere, PS, Lightroom...) working great.
Btw, is anyone tested TopazLabs plugins on latest beta?

Yeah AE was the only one that gave me problems - during PB3 and PB4. Thanks again. I updated to PB6 and confirm that AE 2015 CC is working for me.
 
What are the permissions needed to edit the first post? It says that the Brother Control Center doesn't work and that it does not connect to the scanner. I just tested it with my Brother DCP-J152W and it does work just fine (and I'm on the latest El Capitan Public Beta).
 
It wasn't me who added that but I can't get Brother Control Center to work over the network. I can print, but not scan. Brother Control Center tells me there is no device available. Brother DCP-9055CDN.

I'm using my DCP-J152W over the wifi network. Weird, but it works just fine (both printing and scanning.)
 
Seems 1Password 5 (non App Store version) does not work anymore within the GM Candidate. I tried at first 5.4.BETA-40 after that 5.3.2.

When I start it the beach ball appears and I can't do anything except force quit, after 1-2 minutes I get an error message that it can't connect to 1Password mini and I should restart it or click on a link to the support page.

Does anyone else has this issue?


Edit: Same with 1Password 4. Version 3 works, but I have no registration key for that.

At least I can see my 50 character password for the support forum in version 3 and on my iPhone. 😉

contact their tech support, they'll help out. 1password5 is working fine here (non apple store), with 10.11GM...

Sounds like something got corrupt. I would reinstall 1Password. It has been working well for me in GM.
 
MPlayer X is not really working - its buggy! The whole Video shown is pixelated as hell - i can't watch any HD Material properly. Thats a shame since i love this app and use it on a daily basis. Hope the fix does not take as long as the last update. Anyone else with this problem?

Fantastical 2 works if you do not use the iCloud calendar. It works with Gmail calendars and Microsoft Exchange calendars.
